SETI@home News Vol. 111 (23/07/2010)

Lol yup they're hot and run toasty but i nicknamed em the Brevilles.....just see how toasty they get!!!:eek::eek:

Never mind putting one in the toaster (you'll just melt the toaster). Just slap a slice of bread on top of one and you'll probably have toast in ohhh, 10 seconds!

Oh come on what do i have to do

Blimey you dont get much closer than that Mr Reaver sah....that'll teach you to go foldytastic :)
Am on a coffee and 6 cigarrette break sweating like a large girl in a disco...curse these case changes.
Well....once more unto the breach dear friends :)

Fear not folks, I haven't forgotten to do the news :)

After a bit of thought I've decided to change the news day to Sundays, which will allow for the various stats sites I use to have fully caught up after Berkeley's three-day outage.

Ok it took a lot longer than i thought this case change, started at 9pm just finished. Av temps were mid 70's in an 800d case but the air flow in a haf x is brill right away temps steady at 68 on all 3 cards.
The job

Was determined to make a better cable tidying than i did on the 800d :o

Best tidy this a bit :)

Allmost done !

A few minor hacking jobs.....i love this dremmel :)

All done :D

Getting better at tidying cables....ish

All in all i like the case a lot, 200mm fan intaking from the front and that shield that covers the cable end of the gpu's houses a 120mm fan was a job fitting it hence the hacking. 200mm fan side intake and 200mm top exhaust, push pull on exhaust . Could have done better with cables at the back but 6 hours my attention span had gone, noticeable drop in temps off the bat well worth it in my opinion. Much better air flow than the 800d, slightly smaller but if you go the water route theres definately less space to work in though you would just fit a triple rad at the top. Only thing i would change with the case would be to have the hd cage in 2 parts with the option to remove a section or alltogether but as i dont intend to fill them the air flow is still good.
Job done :D

First thing you want to do is remove that hd cage in the psu bay and drill 150 holes then you can fit 2 x140 fans to suck up some of the good stuff.
