I'll stick this in here as it's only a general parp.....
Parp to myself on behalf of TBag - should happen on next reconnect to Berkley but may be reciprocated if TBag has his mini self imposed outage.
Parp to Edge, Reaver, Simon, Odan & Biffa from my good self - should happen within 2 to 3 weeks
Everything is up and runnig (even without the two defective HDD's - someone please remind me to RMA them).
Wee Rig - i5 650 (4.14Ghz) & 2 x GTS250's - +20k ppd
Mid Rig - Q6600 (3.6Ghz) & 2 x GTX460's - +38k ppd
Big Rig - i7 930 (stock) & 2 x GTX 470's - +40k ppd (when RAC settles - but still a work in progress)
You have been warned

With your current RAC - what is a few thousand between team members
Do you think you will break 500K this outage...
Its quite scary to think that you only started this in Feb, and look where you are now! Mind you, this gpu crunching malarky don't half speed things up a tad...
75% of my total credit has come in the last 2 yrs..

I have an Phenom II and 1 x 470 and 1 x 480 and RAC has yet to go above 35K - though it is all over the place since the outage..
But your using windows 7........very poor OS when it comes to SETI.
Why? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but have never really understood why - I know Win7 takes up more resources, but I have gone through it with a fine toothcomb and turned off pretty much everything I can, so its not taking that much more than XP...
No idea why.....I did the same thing.
Eventually, I just made all my rigs dual boot - Windows 7 & Windows XP.
The 470 & 480 should net 20k each win xp (at least).
My mid rig (before I swapped out the 470's for the 460's) reached an RAC of +35k (and still rising) and thats GPU only.
So, get yourself XP if you want to try hold me off
One more thing - as the Fermi app is still quite new, everyones RAC will be up and down until the work flow steadies out.

I'm still stuck down in the teens for RAC gonna be ages before I climb up
heya - was seti@home with fuuremark for the longest time till they shut the team - so hope you dont mind me quietly joining you guys , only a pair of phenom x4`s with nv cards but every little helps i suppose.

There's no way i will break 500,000 this time but am going to give it my best shot next week

A good natured and helpfull bunch of guys you came to the right place
I was getting great results with xp but found it hogging the system too much and could not do anything but seti on it. Win 7 meh its ok and i can be doing other stuff too i don't think there's much in it, of course there's everychance i could be wrong....again
If you use the rig for other stuff you have two options:
1 - Use Win 7
2 - Simply have Boinc pause seti when the PC is in use
But as for the difference between Win7 & WinXP it is very quantifiable.

Only 8 CPU's and 2 Nvidia cards is a very welcome addition to the team - be careful though, hanging around in this forum can lead to a depleted bank balance and a constant upgrade itch..

the upgrade itch has been sadly scratched - my car`s MOT is due and a pair of cv joints means no gtx460 or new cpu`s this year

- would run the machines 24/7 but the wife wants to use hers for some reason......Loudbob i would love to test it again if there would be....oh sod it i might as well give it a go at the weekend....give me something else to scramble my brain cells (all 3) with.
Good luck with your new psu...no wonder my mobo didn't arrive, apparently they called and left no card...now have to order again. For the record when it comes to high power psu i swear by these 1500w thermaltake toughpowers.

These 2 gtx 460 although they both have 336 st pr one has 1024 ddr5 and the other 768mb, am hearing good things about them and wondered what you guys reckon to them, Mr Reaver if your about would be happy to hear your opinion on them so far.
Theres not a great difference in price and one comes bundled with a few games...yay or nay....lets hear it
