Very well ta - starting the final phase of my evil plan - GPU no 3, wc loop no 2. Be a few days before I'm all done - but I'm looking forward to the final result. How's the multi-project pc farm behaving?

Suprisingly well all ticking along nicely thanks, you realise we expect regular updates on your build sah, i have all the parts ready for water but its going to be a few weeks yet.

Well, at the moment its mostly wiring. I needed to get power for the third GPU - but I'm all out of appropriate PSU cables. Got somebody looking into a pair of pucka PSU cables for me, but in the meantime, I've had to cobble together a franken-monster cable from molexs! :rolleyes: Its hideous but it'll power the GPU 'till I get proper cabling sorted out.

I've decided to go for a third 285 after all, mainly because I think that a 470 will generate too much heat for this room to get ride of. Should still make about 46k RAC, and with two GPUs under water, should be able to push on up to 50k by extending their over-clocks. All the parts are here, and I shall be spending most evenings next week bolting on, and plumbing in! This rig is going to look like something the Borg on Star Trek cobbled together :D :D
 
Sounds good, must admit i have a franken-molex connection going on and i have no intention of changing it, tis a permanent reminder of the night i finally got it working :)
Though the machines are running ok i am still worried about completion times, they've been horrendous all week, around 26 minutes for 2 tasks per gpu 470.
Have everything set correctly am sure just hope it was an unlucky week. Oh yeah and running 7 high priority astropulse that have 70 plus hours a piece to complete is not helping :D

My ap tasks completed in their normal sort of time, but I did end up re-scheduling 540 vlars!!!! Been running in high priority mode all week. Still, all part of the rich tapestry!!!!

BTW, do start 'playing' with your wc; the more you think and try things out, the sooner you'll be able to bin your original plan and come up with an
alternative. Seriously, once its in, you'll love the results I know I do! Which bits are you planning on cooling?

I found fitting the waterblocks was the easy, and probably the most satisfying bit! Gotta love that shiney copper :cool:

I take it nobody's having any luck with the servers ATM :( ?
 
All but one pc out of seti woo's :(, I hope someone's putting in some overtime at Berkeley over the weekend - if not then MadMac is toast on E@H :p
