No, it’s too much of an easy way out, but equally, our jails shouldn’t be so comfortable.
Agree on this one. Unfortunately digging up rocks with a pickaxe is not that well suited to this country. Agree with the principle though.
I'd support the death penalty for certain very violent crimes eg the Liverpool gang shooting.
Yes, down with the right to a fair trial and due process. The lawyers should be kept totally away from it whether its death or 50 years life makes zero difference to the conviction.
Really conflicted on this one tbh, one side of me says a simple bullet much like a slaughter house gun none of this drawn out injection malarkey and it happens within 12 hrs of the sentence being handed down and the body wrapped rags from the waste bins and dumped at sea.
What if someone confessed to the crime of murder, and dna evidence backed it up, would the people against the death penalty still be against it in that situation?
So your against the death penalty but for inflicting acts of violence upon children?Corporal punishment though: I personally don't see many issues against bringing that back.
Didn't do me any harm. Taught me respect amongst other things. So your against the death penalty but for inflicting acts of violence upon children?
How about that chair they have on the Graham Norton show? Too much waffle the jurors don't like, judge gets the signal and the lever gets pulled. Next defendant please! For those of you in favour of the death penalty, what if the penalty were applied immediately? That is, the convicted is killed immediately after the guilty verdict is given, right there in front of everyone. The foreman / forewoman delivers the verdict, the judge gives the sentence of death, and someone pulls a lever and the convicted dies. No appeals - the convicted has had a fair trial, after all. Oh, and you're on the jury. Are you having second thoughts?
