Those saying ban all or ban none, what other social media links are you talking about?

Get rid for me, it’s the cesspit of the internet.

What have we censored?
The OP has been altered to remove the specific trigger point for the discussion. The root cause of people taking action against Twitter in the last 24 hours has been the "incident that cannot be mentioned in this thread" (yet Feek has only deleted a handful of posts with plenty of references still there).

I've voted no but I would personally like a ban of all social media and perhaps only allow websites again.
Social media is genuinely awful and just getting worse.

J don't have accounts with X or meta or Mr bluesky either. Having said that if people wish to amplify their statements using these sources, why not. We all should believe in free expression and freedom of speech.

We are not China.

Now show the videos of those photos and compare plus take the actions and motivations of the people photographed into account. This is desperate stuff. I knew Overclockers forums is more right wing leaning but I didn't realise it was this entrenched. Please take this type of nonsense post to the Elon thread.
You cannot prove anyones motivations. Especially when it comes to politics as most people have already pre-assigned a persons motivation.

Perhaps, but the target of conversation is still the same though. The whole Musk thing isn't relative to the question of the thread.

I've unlocked this because I want the discussion on whether Twitter / X should be allowed to continue.

The subject is not about Elon Musk, there's a separate thread in SC for that.

Keep it on topic.
The entire reason this post exists is because of the actions taken by Elon Musk. If it wasn't for that there is no reason to single out X/Twitter. The thread should therefore be talking about all forms of social media. You should update the thread title to include other social media platforms such as Reddit, The twitter alternatives and Meta platforms.

And truth be told I suspect that a lot of people voting are doing so based on Musks actions.

I said it should be banned months ago if you check 'that' thread in SC.

How can that be at all true when the conversation was triggered specifically because of that issue, and the rest of the internet is going "dark" (or grey) on Twitter because of that specific issue?

Or are you talking about the edited OP and ignoring basically all of page 1?

Both Twitter and Blue Sky are echo chambers, just that Twitter represents the right and Blue Sky represents the left. I would be happy to ban both in all areas of OcUK except for SC which is the politics sub-forum.
If I could ban it anywhere it would be SC tbh.

There's freedom of speech, and then there's indoctrination and coercion. Where do you draw the line?

Those of you who voted Yes, do you think people should be selling their Tesla cars? (or to be more precise, cancelling their leases)
