Look nice. I had some rubbish oysters recently, the restaurant hadn't properly cleaned the shells so I just got a mouthful of seaweed and beard. Wasn't impressed.

Made some quinoa sushi, it was rank, threw it away.

Then made some proper sushi. Mackerel, pickled beetroot, carrot, pepper, cucumber, ginger and wasabi:

..and a raymond style picture for good luck:

On the dessert theme made Ottolenghi's chocolate fudge cake a couple of weeks ago, oooooof it's chocolatey :p Highly recommended though, the recipe is spot on and actually pretty straight-forward.

Recipe and delicious-looking mid-cook pictures (not mine):

It was bloody delicious and rich as anything but I'd actually go darker chocolate as I just prefer v. dark chocolate desserts. The two textures work really well and I ended up making a raspberry + blackberry coulis to serve with some ice-cream to cut the richness. And an espresso to to finish :p

^That looks absolutely awesome. I would award 10/10 however you've served it up on one of those bloody annoying slabs of slate!!!

Kangaroo rump steak with triple cooked chips (fried in dripping); onion rings and Habanero rings in tempura batter; corn on the cob; fried mushrooms and fried tomatoes. Served with a tasty glass of Rioja.

This is genuinely one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever made for myself. I actually slowed down eating it so I could enjoy it better. It's the first time I've ever had kangaroo and I found it most pleasing. Slightly gamey but not overpowering - very nice indeed. I got all my cooking times and timings spot on so everything was ready at the right time.

Bliss

Made my first croquembouche, with cardamom crème pat and pistachios. Looks small and podgy in the pic, but there's 55 choux balls in there!
