*** Show us your bikes! ***

Looking sweet there Rilot, as long as it puts a smile on your face & gets you out & about is all that matters, and they do sound utterly glorious on full chat. :D

Looks awesome. Not what I'd want on my morning commute but to tour America, oh yes!

What's with the 3 exhausts? Seems a bit odd :p

My new bike - traded in the Daytona for it, after wanting a change:

Ducati Hypermotard 796

In shorting.... ******* love it, what an immense bike! Should have switched to V Twins ages ago!

Off to Italy for a week now... though sadly not on this!

It's the name no (and yours lol)? Rocket III, it's a triple :p Unless you're talking about it being 3 into 1 into 3?

Awesome

One of them is on my list of bikes to test as a first "big" bike once I do my tests, along with the KTM 950SM, Aprilia Dorsoduro, Monster 696/796/1100 and so-on :D

You can get extended tanks for them, but they're not cheap!

Now, get a set of Termi's on there!

Were you at Box Hill Ryka's on Saturday? There was a 796 HM there with the same, erm, dirty swingarm :p although the one there was in worse condition I think, flaking engine paint, looked well used! :D

Fitted a bunch of stuff on Sunday.

heated grips
adjustable touring screen (doesn't look too bad)
new ebc hh pads front and rear
v system for the scotoiler

things left to do before next trip

new rear pr4 tyre, fit panniers and swap the givi top box plate on to it.

Which grips did you get? Aftermarket ones? For which bike?

ktm ones, but they would fit any bike by the looks of it. The ends have std spade connectors on them and just got to an ignition switched 12v supply.

they have a start up cycle and 4 power settings. I think the old ones they do where based on the daytona heated grips but they just have a start setting and on setting. Start gets too hot and on isn't warm enough on them (got them on my STR).

New toy. 2006 (55) Triumph Rocket III.
Yes, it's not going to be many people's taste but I like the whole cruiser thing.

I think side on it looks great although I would have gone for a Black one.
That Back end is terrible though, you going to do anything about it ?

Enjoy anyways, I bet it's great on the open road.

Nice one, cheers. Tempted to get a set of grips for the Street Triple for when the Winter commute starts getting chilly.

Yup. The plan has two phases.

Phase 1:
Lose the pillion seat and sissy-bar / rack
Lose the stock numberplate and indicator mount
Fabricate a bracket to side-mount the number plate to the bottom of the shock on the left, just above the pipe.
Fabricate a bracket to mount the indicators further forwards

Phase 2:
Obtain a 2nd hand rear mudguard
Cut mudguard down by about 10cm (just forwards of the tail light)

That should let that 240 section rear tyre show itself.

really handy on trips as you can take thinner gloves and not worry about temps :)

i had a 12v socket fitted to mine as well, just beside the clocks unit to power gps and charge usb stuff in a tank bag. worth doing at the same time as they both want an ignition switched line.

Phase 2:Obtain a 2nd hand rear mudguard.

Ide actually make that phase 1 as theres a couple on ebay atm for about a ton, which is a damn sight cheaper than the £235 asking price of a custom shortie rear guard for the Rocket 3, which would still need painting as well.

It's going to look so much better after the mods, What's the time table ? I'm looking forward to seeing it when its done, Lose the rack, rear seat, rear pegs, rear mudguard & light, Coming up behind it with You sat on top of an exposed 240 will look Epic.
