When your guys' cats die, do you bury them in your garden/field, or do you take them somewhere to be...disposed...of? Morbid question, but something I'm curious about as it's something nobody talks about. (Because it's so morbid, probably)

All of ours have been buried in the garden. There's 4 in my parents' back garden :(

All the animals I have had are buried in our garden, along with some family members too.

When any of my pets pass away they get buried in my mums back garden. So far there are two dogs, two chinchillas, a hamster and a gerbil buried amongst the daisies there.

After watching the latest James May episode of Man Lab I would love for my cats to go up into the stratosphere :)

I don't think the mrs would agree to it however, so I imagine a burial in the back garden would be what we go for, at my old house that is where all my budgies/hamsters/rabbits went.

My mum got our cat cremated and the ashes put in a lovely wooden cat shaped urn, with her heart shaped collar tag on top. We have a photo of her on the mantle piece and a collage photo of her in our rooms

Things are looking good! The missus and I have been looking for a while to rehome two young cats. We have now found two 10 week old kittens which the owner says are inseperable, and they seem perfect :)

So, im currently knocking together our cat accessories shopping list. Any input would be appreciated!

2 x litter trays + scoop
Catsan litter
Litter tray liners
1 large cat bed or two seperate ones (will probably get one large one)
Food (going to see what they are currently fed on before deciding)
Pet friendly disinfectant spray (any input on this?)
Food and drink bowls (seperate for each or let them share?)
A couple of toys to begin with.

Anything I have missed?

Cannot believe I am actually posting this.

So following on from the picture I posted a little while ago, we now have two British Blue kittens destroying the house. The idea was that they were going to be indoor cats, which is fine, but one of my sisters friends decided to tell everyone that they have something for their indoor cats, which is appparently "a really good idea".

A Cat run.

The mind boggles.

Anyway, we are apparently getting one. No doubt I'll have to at least help build it. The idea is it will attach to the back door so the cats can use the cat flap to go into a secure 6x6x6(probably higher) area, which will then have another door out to the garden.

Has anyone heard of such a thing, or have any experience of getting one?

Cat runs are quite normal, if you can afford one and if you are happy to build it (not easy).
My intention was to build a cat run for my 2 cats...but I've just never got round to it.

The breeder of my Egyptian Mau had plenty of cat runs and they were huge.

My friends have a cat run for their Burmese cats. Its pretty big and means they get a bit of outdoors experience while not being able to escape. I might well do the same when I eventually get a couple of Bengal cats as I hate the idea of them cooped up in the house while I work.

Might have to get a cat when I move out. Parents dont want to get another one.

But question is, is it fair to have an animal if you live alone?

Lock it in, or out when you go to work?

Nobody is at mine during the day, depending on the weather depends on whether or not Tony gets shut out.

And he's always happy to see me when I get in :D
