Show us your kitty cats

We have a beautiful kitten aged 2 months, we lost a cat before Christmas and it was awful :( We have since acquired a 2yr old female cat that has decided to make our home hers!! :D Cheeky devil she is! They get on well and we have not found the owners nor has she got a chip. The funny thing is she is about to give birth within the next few hours by the looks of things. We have had her around 11 weeks so she has not been spayed so got pregnant while been with us :) Cannot wait to see what its like, should be an experience to watch, I will try and record it :)

For reals? You stole a cat, let her get pregnant thereby increasing the over population of unwanted cats, and you are excited about this? How hard did you try to 'find the owners'?

Confused at me or Sonea?

She's not a siamese... she's a proper fatty.

Sorry, I was confused, I didn't realise you were replying to a message so far back. I thought you were saying that Manface's cat on this page (which I now realise is called Leila, not Sophie) was not a siamese (which she clearly looks like).

Memo to self... Read posts carefully before responding!

Indeed. And it was explained to me that perhaps Nom is relating to when people eat and make the noise of "nom nom nom" as they eat. Some people even suggested that this came from a computer game. Others disagreed.

In any case, from what I understand it relates to eating and food.

I will no longer be expending any more time on the word 'nom', but if you wish to carry out further research, you are more than welcome. ;)

When you were a baby did your mummy not give you numnums?

If not, then what a deprived childhood you must have had

:p

For reals? I think so.

Took the cat to the vets as we had no idea who the cat belongs to, no chip and no lost cat leaflets, we are quite popular and know the whole street so the word we had a stray cat so to speak spread and nobody has come forward claiming it there's. At the end of the day the cat has a loving home here, been well fed and looked after. Over population of Kittens? Where did you pull that one from, who cares?? Yes we are excited as it will be quite a strange experience. Not like we stole it, made it happen and taking over the world is it?

I presume that the vets put up found posters? Or did you?

I have to agree with BunnyKillBots point about not having her spayed. Considering the amount of cats in rspca and battersea homes and other shelters.

We did everything we could to find her home.

Well the birth of her Kittens has not gone too well. 4 were born one was dead and another died during the night, they are now around 30Hrs old, the other two are ok, one is doing so well feeding off mum all the time and the other maybe touch and go as its not feeding much. We got some kitten replacement milk to try and get some into the one that died but it did not last long, it was weak and frail. I don't quite know what happened to be fair. We did everything we could. She has a nice warm and cosy bed which is a good size and out of the way from noise. Guess it does not always go well :(

Sorry to hear that :( hope mum is doing ok

Yeah she is doing really well, I think deep down the other one will not make it, the poor little one cannot seem to feed. The other Kitten couldn't b doing any better :) Always attached to the nipple!! I hope I'm wrong and she will pull through and be a strong Kitten :)

If she's a young cat they sometimes just make crap mums the first time round. If it's her first litter that is, which you won't know.

Hope they all do OK. And if you're keeping her, once the kittens are weaned, get her spayed won't you?

Have you contacted the vets? Maybe theres something they can do or suggest to increase its odds for survival?

I dunno, I'm just spitballing here. Not owned a cat for a long time.

I think it may well be her first seeing what's happened. She sure will be getting done :)

Not contacted the vets, little they can do I suppose well I'm not sure what else can be done? The other one has since passed away :(!!! Bless the little hearts they were not up to the task I suppose. The last and reaming Kitten is doing very very good, it is so much bigger and all it does it suck on the mothers nipple!! I think this one will live and survive, the others looks very small and frail. I guess this one got all the nutrients and the like.

Quite a unpleasant experience to be fair, not what me and my GF expected, as usual nothing is. If this little one looks and starts not to be feeding then its going to the vets, it just happens so quick when they deteriorate till they go, you don't have time to see a vet and on a sunday! Its very hard.

here's maze.. we got her yesterday

she's 8 weeks old now and a very playful little girl! no litter training and has some fleas sadly.. but she's learning quick and getting to know the house :) don't want to force her.. fleas are being threated too

Just show her the litter, by 8 weeks if she's been with mum she'll know what to do. She looks lovely BTW

Sounds like a pretty brutal experience to have to go through. I think you'd be wise to have the mother cat spayed as soon as possible, to avoid a possible repeat of this.

well here she is.. 3rd day with us :) fleas are gone now, she knows her way around the house now(not everything but shes settling in nicely) sleeps in my room for now
