Show us your kitty cats

Here's my new arrival, a Bengal X boy.

Unfortunately, Lilli, my year old Bengal (below) is beating on him pretty bad when I let them meet. Its been a week now and she keeps chasing him round and pushing him over, clawing him.

he doesn't seem too bothered, he keep bouncing back over to her and gets another beating. Ive never introduced a new cat before so I don't know whether this is normal, but at the moment I daren't take my eyes off them when they are together.

If the kitten is taking a genuine beating...he'll let you know.
Let them get used to eachother, but keep an eye on them.
Eventually the kitten and older cat will reach an understanding as to who the boss is.

Took my girlie a while to get used to the little ones.

She was very anti any other cat besides her brother before he died (miss you Stewie).

For the first week or so, we thought we'd made a mistake as it seemed like she really hadn't taken to them... she was hiding upstairs and just not showing us the affection she used to. Plus we were still greiving over the loss of Stewie, we were doubting ourselves a lot.

It was hard - especially as we were falling for the new guys (the first night was all it took)... but we even thought we might have to give them to my parents to look after :(

We got advice from the vet & she said she might take up to 6 months to get used to them and that we shouldn't worry... they'll eventually settle in to a co-existence, even if not friendly.

Thankfully... she's almost back to her usual self now - took about 6 weeks, 4 weeks til she started showing them some affection.

Now she regularly cleans the little guy & let's him cuddle with her / clean her (he seems to idolise her, sweet thing).

She's still a bit pensive about our little girl, but she's getting better & playing with her.

Think it was 3-4 weeks before the two girls stopped hissing at each other.

Patience and they will get used to each other, you don't have anything to worry about - just have to wait it out.

The little fights they're getting in (even with claws out) is just to show who's boss... it really is just that.

I've seen one cat try to kill another & this type of fighting isn't like that at all... you only need to start worrying when fur goes flying all over the place and the big one starts going for the little one's neck. This would be very very unlikely to happen though. The whacks with a clawed paw is perfectly normal & all Cheshire really did to assert her dominance :)

I have seen her go for his neck a couple of times. I'm was worried about his eyes getting harmed when she claws his face as his eyes never seem to blink/close to protect themselves.

That youtube video is great..nice find!

I wouldn't wprry too much if there is a bit of smacking about, we had it when our now oldest cat was a kitten and introduced to our sadly now deceased middle aged cats. One of them was fine and loved her the other was wholly dreadful to her and beat her up whenever she got on the bed. But with lots of shared toys and time they ended up being really good friends and would always sleep in the same bed when she was older.

You tend to find the kitten thinks 'cat loves me' when cat is being homicidal maniac and so put themselves in claws way but they will usually settle down ok. Supervise carefully to ensure she isn't getting too aggressive - with our female cats the male kitten went down a storm in the end and they all liked to take turns washing him and sitting on him.

Did anyone order any of those cat tress I linked to on Amazon earlier?
Just wondering if theres any pics available, wanting to know wether I paid well over the odds :(

Yes, somebody did buy one and put up pics.
If you bought your tree from a big pet website, then you almost certainly paid a very high price.

If you want to pay the "real" price, always buy from auction (or if you can find any on the forest shop). NEVER buy from a mainstream online pet retailer as they charge at least double the "real" price.

My kittens had a ceramic bowl for their water but they kept dragging it across the floor and tipping it over. I bought one of the water bowls with the "bottle" bit on top but though they can't drag it about anymore, they are still splashing it everywhere.

Any suggestions??

You can buy feed bowls from the pound shop, with super wide bases. These cannot be tipped over.

Mine never seemed to drink much tbh, got one of those fountain thingies.
Initially they both seemed **** scared of it.
Now I'm having to top it up a fair bit every day.

Cheers for the pics mate, VERY similar to one I paid £100 for :( lol
Looks like was a good buy :)
