We started him on 2 a day but he basically insufferable because his meals were so far apart. He lacks the ability to graze so we found spacing his feeding times out was better as he didn't beg for food until recently.

2 or 3 or 4 is not a problem it is what you feed him that matters. I had a lot of bother with my Millie and it took me some months and a visit to the vet for some knowledgeable advice before I got it sorted.

Now mine has poached fish mixed with a part of a Sheba pouch which will give her the nutrients she needs but the fish does not supply. She is far better now as the fish gives her the bulk, (she is a big cat) but low calories and the Sheba gives her the nutients(taurine and the like) but is high in calories.

She now is less greedy and I get a nights sleep.

Obviously we are all cat lovers here but what about them really gets to you.

With my Millie it is her gentleness, she will jump up on the bed and touch me with her paw, which feels like a feather brushing my cheek. It is the way she will sit at an open door expectantly as if I know what she wants, but of course I don't. it is the way she will come charging at me across the garden because she is pleased to see me. I could go on but most of all it is her affection for me when I was going through a particular hard time with cancer treatment. She was always there, she seemed to know that I needed a bit of comfort.
But I suspect we all have our stories.

I've had a really difficult week at work, but every morning for the last 7 days, Dave who is normally out the door at 5am has stayed lying on the bed with me, like he knows I need a cuddle.

My heart also melts every time I get home later than my usual time, and Lola is sat on the path waiting for me to arrive home.

:)

How do they know?

How do they know?

With both things, I have no idea, it's mainly just me and them, so I'm guessing they're just tuned in to me and what's going on in my brain.

The arriving home thing, I guess Lola might hear my car coming and dash out just as I'm parking :D

My old rescue cat Bert was stone deaf so used to sit in the front window watching waiting for me to come home, upon seeing you he would get down and meet you at the back door.

Used to be great sneaking around the back and getting in that way, he couldn't hear you come in so you could sneak up and give him a cuddle as hes still staring out of the front window and he'd be unbeleivably confused to 10 seconds

I really suffered during my cancer treatment and for many months afterwards, but Millie was always there. I napped a lot and although she is a cat that prefers her own space she would curl up beside me and would purr loudly as if to reassure me that all was well.

My cats always come to check that I'm okay if I'm feeling down or not well, even putting aside their general feud to do so.

They also come and wake me up in thunderstorms because want reassurance that everything is okay :)

My cat Jinx isn't really affectionate :(

However there are a number of cats that I go to visit outside my work (during lunchtime) that are willing to let me pet them. One is a wee dote and loves a cuddle. She's an outside cat as her owner has another cat that is indoors and they fight when together, so this wee thing is kept outside :( I make a point in going to give her a pet and a cuddle and if I have food or treats, to give her loads of them. Hate the thought in this cold weather of it being outside all night :(

My MC is pretty affectionate towards me, will always be waiting for me at the front door meowing away, she is an indoor cat.

She is not much of lap cat, but she is always in arms reach regardless of what room I am in and she purrs a lot.

Just about right to go in this thread :)
Our youngish lad has been hanging around with the wrong crowd (he always comes home with mates who we have to stop following him into the house) and he's picked up some unwanted pests (fleas).
We do usually keep their treatment up to date, but it looks like we missed one.
We can sort him out and his sister (not by blood) but we need to sort some rooms out too.

Anyone recommend some "flea/bug bombs" that do the job well?
We had some about three years ago - set off, close windows and doors and return a few hours later and the result was perfect, no more fleas. However cannot for the life of me remember the brand.
Any recommendations?

goes without saying but make sure anything that has Permethrin has dispersed thoroughly before letting your cat back in/near the sprayed item as it is VERY lethal VERY quickly if ingested etc.

Good point neil g, with most of the anti-flea sprays its best to keep the cats out of that room for at least an hour to allow the spray to dry; as ever make sure any product instructions are properly followed.

I, on occasion, playfully chase Luna briefly to perhaps liven up a dull moment or take advantage of her funny five minute charge around the house.

Is she likely to assume that I'm just playing or is she more likely to think I want to catch and eat her?
