:D

looks about right. the family cats were always letting mice go indoors.

a few years back i moved back home temporarily into the box room, i kid you not all of my worldly belongings were stored under the bed. what does one of the cats do, bring a mouse in and lets it go. it runs up the stairs and into my room and under the bed.

cue the remainder of the evening unpacking the room to find this mouse. meanwhile the cats had knobbed off somewhere else..

She was lingering in the kitchen waiting to be given some chicken that had just come out of the oven, she loves chicken :)

Ugh, kitty will not stop crying recently. There's nothing wrong with her; she's quiet when we play. She's had two 30 min play sessions with me since I got home tonight (I've been home about 3 hours, so she's not doing too badly there.)

After the end of each play session, the crying begins again, and doesn't stop. It's actually making me slightly angry now. I try to get her to run and jump and get rid of her energy, but she is kind of "lazy" when we play.

Then, oddly, as soon as I *stop* playing, she starts to madly run up and down the stairs, around the house, whilst crying really loud.

She will just then park herself in the next room from the room I'm in, and meow/cry until I get up and go to her.

Driving me bonkers.

My fella is just like this but I have now sussed out what he wants based on where he is when he is meowing. He refuses to drink water from a bowl and will only drink it from a sink of running water or a glass. Which means he will often meow at you while leading you to one of the bathrooms. I just pour him a glass of water and let him at it.

Other times he will meow like crazy and i know if he wants attention because if i put my hand just above him he will get on his back legs and grab my hand pulling it to his head. A quick fuss or play with some toys will often sort this one out.

The final one is that since they were babies we have given them treats on a fairly regular basis, those sticks of meat, katzinis and all that good stuff, so if I can't get him to shut up by having a chat with him, I spend a few mins feeding him a few treats by hand which seems to stop all the attention seeking.

The only other time he was going nuts was when our house got broken into and his sister disappeared for the day. I had one talkative cat on my hands that day.

thanks, it was only 3 months ago that we lost her 11yo brother Jester so this realy sucks hard, ive told the vet though that were not just going to turn up and have her put down.. want to see if any options are available, but she is in a real bad way so im not holding my breath, got to do whats best for her :( :(

edit,
She's got her brother Jester looking after her now, Rip Heidi :(

Sucks :-( I lost my 11yr old "girl" cat Willow a month ago to a tumour so I know what you're going through. Hope it doesn't hit you too hard esp with losing her borther so recently.

thanks mate, yeah it sucks hard :(
she'd had loads of attention and fuss over that last 3 months since we lost her big bro though, and the Vet said her problems had been going on for some time.. maybe her fate had already been sealed before we lost her bro,
it was great to have her for comfort after we lost Jester, and as a result she probably had the best 3 months of her life with all the attention.
still, it sucks hard though :(
need to draw a line under this now though and keep the thread happy :)

Has anyone had any experience with small bald patches in the fur? No obvious signs of redness and she doesn't seem to be scratching any more than usual.

@ Bipolar Kittens & Bobcat,

Beautiful cats :)

Guys, can you recommend a really good liquid spot on flea treatment for our aging puss, We've been using stronghold but yesterday the misses found 6 fleas on our cat, and I've suspected for a little while that the treatment isn't as effective as it once was, so any recommendations please? Thanks :)

We have just had this with one of our cats. It was the size of a 50 pence coin and on the lower 3rd of his back. You couldn't see it unless you stroked his fur the wrong way. Went to see the vet and he said it may have been from an abscess from a bite wound (???).

Told us to keep an eye on it. I find the abscess thing hard to believe as they are usualy painful and he gets fussed every day and when he has had them before he growls and hisses if you touch them. But the fur has started growing in again now and he seems his normal self.

The only thing I thought of was if it was a bruise from something, or a bad reaction to a flea bite?

@Space Monkey - we use Effipro. Seems effective, but we have only used if for the last couple of years.
