Kronos, that looks like one of those JML advertised thingies for £20! Unless it's the same but sold elsewhere for a more sane price...

No she does not. She occasionally brushes her chin but not much else. Only a tenner on Evilbay so no great loss.

I was not paying 20 quid as she is not really a toy sort of cat. Loves her scratching post but nothing else we have bought has held her interest longer than a couple of minutes. So a tenner off Ebay.

Which cat litter would you all suggest? Also, do you have a basic litter tray or one of the new covered ones which have a flap on the front?

I use Oko Plus, and I made my cats' tray from plastic storage crates.

Whiskey's got a fat lip/chin and I found a dead baby bumble bee in the sink...

Can't find a sting, he's fine, no sign of pain and is eating and drinking. Going to leave it and see how he is in the morning.

I use catsan.

Litter tray I've got the hooded ones, when they were kittens I took the flap off until they got the hang of it. :)

How are you going to dispose of it?

I only get the biodegradable stuff, and it either gets flushed down the loo or stuffed in the compost bin (solids down the loo, wet litter in compost).

Decided early on I didn't want anything tracked around the carpet, so have tried the wood pellets that dissolve into sawdust, and the paper pellets.

The wood pellets are huge, heavy and don't tend to leave the litter tray at all. The smell is also nice. They crumble into dust when they are peed on, making it easy to separate the minty fresh litter from the... not so fresh litter ;)

The downside to the wood pellets is that my kitty has a hell of a time trying to scrape the litter over her poop.

The other stuff I've tried is the paper pellets (from Breeder Celect). These are smaller, easier for kitty to move around, but a surprising amount manage to get out of the litter tray (caught in her feet until she shakes them off :p) They don't mask smell quite so well as the wood pellets.

Personally, I think I'm going to try something new next time. You'll find a lot of owners are always on the search for the "perfect" cat litter :p

So I'm er picking up Bruce a week today. Keeping everything crossed he gets on with Dave and Lola.

I started with the wooden pellets but I think you need a tray with a sieve to catch the sawdust. It didn't mask the smell at all and in fact made the house smell of cat wee and sawdust :p

I then moved to some Pets at Home own brand at £6 for 8 litres which was really small. Great for clumping and cleaning but Luna tracked it about the house because it was so small so that was a no.

Finally I tried some basic clay stuff from the local garden centre at about £7 for 20 litres which is great. It clumps, is too big to get caught in Luna's feet so it doesn't track and it masks smells perfectly.

I'd never pay for branded cat litter, it's such a con.
