Show us your kitty cats

Serious question to the long-haired cat owners (that’s cats with long hair, not owners with long hair, before some smartarse jumps in :p).

Do they get poop stuck in their bum fur? I’d really like a big fluffy cat, but am a bit squeamish about the idea of cutting poop out of its fur.

Sometimes get the problem , my 2 maincoons are very clean cats :)

My cat was very cautious about stepping on keyboards which I was thankful for. She has apparently got over it however!

To be honest our short hair has had more Klingons than the long hair has.

My little one peanut has long hair and is also very fluffy so this can be a problem sometimes.

What I have taken to doing is once a month I will take a pair of clippers to that area, and around it a bit to take the bulk off. Problem solved :)

In regards to the keyboard, my two don't like my new one due to the lights so don't go near it anymore haha

Regarding klingons, whenever we go to the vet I ask them to shave the offending area. If I notice the hair is getting long I just get the scissors out for a Pantaloon trim.

Whilst i dont own a cat, there is one that hangs about round my house. Has been doing so for a few weeks now. At first it looked a bit skinny, i have been leaving food out for it and not really bothering with it much. It is eating what i leave out and it will come a bit closer when im there, but i never try to call it towards me. Ive asked round the area i live if anyone is missing a cat but no response so far. I wouldnt want to put it off or frighten it in anyway. If it would be comfortable maybe with me taking it on eventually, as i wouldnt want to see anything bad happening to it. Quite a few people in my area own pretty aggressive dogs, (aka idiot owners) and id be worried about it's safety.

You could be feeding someone else's cats, who might be skinny for any number of reasons (cat is old, has a health condition) you may have the best of intentions, but whilst you're feeding him/her the cat won't go home.

It could have course be a stray as well. The best thing to do is if you can catch the cat inside and pop it to a local vets to check for a microchip. Failing that if you can get near enough to put a home made paper collar around the cats neck (just cut a length of paper and sellotape it at the right size to fit round kitty's neck) with your phone number on, asking if the owner reads this to let you know that the cat is theirs and all is well with them, then at least you will know if the cat does have a home and you'll know hopefully if said cat is stray.
