Show us your kitty cats

He would have been 4 in May. :(

Sorry to hear about Dave! :(

We've just moved house and are wondering how long to keep the cats in for before we unleash them. They are desperate to get out and keep making escape attempts when they see the doors open. They've been in for a week so far and the vet said keep them in for 5 days.

My vet said 6 weeks! I managed 2 weeks and 2 days before I let them out. 5 days is way too short.

hugo has been back to the vet this morning, still doing small wees and a little bit of a pink tinge to them.

more antibiotics and steroids.. got a slightly inflamed bladder still but he's not holding anything in.

Took Holly to vet this morning as she seemed to have a problem eating - Vet checked her over and she was fine - He then said you have a grossly overweight Chav cat.

So it now seems we are signed up for the Cat version of Weight Watchers.

Trouble is she is totally bone idle - has been since we had her and all she does is eat and sleep. - He sole exercise is walking from bed to food bowl to litter tray - She was a stray begging food from builders on building site - When job was finished they called Cat rescue and we had her from them - She was about 2years old then so I think as she had a unlimited supply of food she just kept eating what was on offer. -She just sat there looking up at wife who gave in.

This is how she looked when we got her - Just imagine a Walrus and you are not far off

We've been looking to rescue a cat for the last few months, but every time we found one suitable for us, someone else had always reserved it (which is a good thing).

Upon trying to find another rescue home, we couldn't seem to locate it anywhere, so popped into the Vets which was near by to ask them if they knew where it could be. They also weren't too sure, but they mentioned that they had a cat brought into their practice and asked if we wanted to take a look at him.

Anyway, to cut the story short, we both instantly fell in love with him and are happy to say they we are picking him up later today. :)

They aren't too sure if he was in an accident, or whether some thugs were kicking him about, but he needed an emergency operation and unfortunately lost one of his eyes.

He's a very nervous little guy, they reckon maybe 3/4 months old, but we are going to give him lots of love and hope that he settles into our home as quick as he can. We've bought him lots of goodies, but will introduce slowly and at his pace.

Everyone meet Jack. Will update with more pics as soon as he isn't so shy.

aww..

floyd was incredibly nervous when we got him home. he'd settled in within a week :)

he's still nervous of strangers and runs a mile when the doorbell goes.

She feels like 6 stone but it is 6 kg - Vet said for her size we should aim at 3.5kg - so she is a idle fat obese little bugger - shame she doesn't have any kits as I would try getting child benefit for her.:rolleyes:

ooft yeah, my 2 year old boys are 4kg and apparently thats about right :D

more play time required, laser pointer is like a god in our house..

I would like to introduce the newest member of my household. Kiwi!!

And here is the second night of him being in the house. Sushi decided to go and say hello :)

My current two cats, Peanut and Sushi were bought separately originally as well and they got on so well immediately and are now inseparable and I think its going to be the same situation this time for Kiwi.

Sushi especially is trying to play but I think is a little scared because of the massive size difference, but Peanut and Sushi are just letting Kiwi do whatever and haven't shown aggression etc.

Regardless I am being careful. Kiwi is only 8 weeks, peanut was 5 months when she was introduced to Sushi so if something goes wrong, Kiwi is more at risk so they are only together when I am present but so far its going very well.

And here are photos of Peanut and Sushi:

Definitely need to buy new beds for them. The current ones are getting tatty and as you can see, Sushi now lies on top as he doesn't fit inside lol

She is a wise old cat - as soon as laser pointer comes out she just flops over and looks at you and you see her thinking - "You must think I'm mad" There is no way I will catch that.

The feather on a stick is same - if she doesn't get it in first try she gives up.

Bone idle - lazy - she is just a food dustbin.

Just thought of something - thread her pellets on a string and wave it around - :D
