Show us your kitty cats

With the long hair she sometimes has crapcidents that need to be taken care of, otherwise she leaves skid marks all over the kitchen floor.

I trim my ginger toms tail area with a pair of scissors when grooming him. This helps to prevent crapcidents. If I ever tried to wash him I would probably end up looking like I just went 13 rounds with lion :p

He's a big cat...7kg!

Here's a close up of our boy Max, he was about 7 months old (Yes a kitten lead was being worn ;) )

What a schweet kittie.

For the rest of the cat owners here, how did you feel the first time letting your cat outside? When I lived on a main road my cat was used to be indoors (it was a 3-4 storey house though with plenty of distractions) and I moved to a house just over the back with a garden back in October. I bought a SureFlap cat flap so she could come and go as she pleased so about 6 weeks of being in the house went outside with her a couple of times and then a week later let her roam free.

Did anyone else worry about the cat? I didn't worry much but still think I worry more than I should. Evie is only a small cat, the runt of the litter but popped out today to see her milling around with a HUUUUGE cat which was scared of her haha!

Our 2nd cat was also the runt of the litter. She is so small and used to always be ill. She's healthy now and boy is she vicious to outsiders! We were scared of letting her out on her own because of her size, but its the right thing to do, cats need to roam and patrol their "territory". We have a catflap and both of our cats come and go as they please.

I looked out of the window once to see her hissing and chasing a male cat which was 3 times her size out of our back garden! She also bullies the big dog next door, her favourite past time is hissing at him. Small cats are tougher then we give them credit for.

You are quite right there. Whilst she is probably the most laid back / placid friendly cat I have the experience of, when my friend came round with his Spaniel she was clearly in charge. She could have gone outside but she chose to force him to sit in the corner bless him. We ended that immediately.

Initially when I moved here, in preparation for bringing her over I put up reed screening so she is (or was) restricted to our garden. Though the other week I wandered outside because she is quite quick when she hears food being prepared to find her wandering back INTO our garden behind the screening. Again, that was probably because I was (needlessly) worried about her getting out but we have lived here months so she's probably been patrolling for the entire time.

She maybe a runt but she clearly deserves more credit for her intelligence!

I felt the same, we had our cats since 8 weeks ol (Yes, I know, a bit early!) but they stayed in until last weekend, they're now neutered, on worming tablets, pre-de-flead, happy, and gorgeous, they have been out most nights this week, just on the back garden with us, wandering round, exploring, walking VERY low, sudden noise, they shoot back into the house, 10 seconds later back at the door, all low, all cute, today they had a little walk up the top of the garden, did some exploring up there, seemed a bit more at ease with it all, ate some grass etc.. :D

I'm happy for them that they are getting used to things and will soon have a cat flap, but sad that they'll not always be around indoors, but at the end of the day, if they are cats that want to go outside, its not fair to keep them in! Should be interesting to see how they cope with other cats, the previous owners had a BIG Golden Retriever that lived in the garden, whether or not cats came in then, I don't know, but in the 7 months we have been here, 1 cat ahs been around a lot, I think times will change for him! hehe
