Show us your kitty cats

Yeah feeding a cat pills
When they don't want to cooperate
Isn't my idea of fun

yep i hold his front paws and dad gets the teethy end, he is pretty strong at saying no now which much be a good sign, just hoping the vet says his heart rate is improved or even his weight on friday, not out woods yet especially if he wont eat much but ill grab any positive i can, miles better than last time :)

Poor old dad lol
Cat bites are a serious infection risk
Don't fancy his end of the job lol
Not eating much is still better
Than not drinking much at least
Hopefully he will start eating a
Little bit at a time
More often

Ted looks plumper than mine lol
Mine is also really gentle natured
With people
Pretty surprising given his
First few years his owners used
Him as a football
But he hasn't got a spiteful bone
In his body
Fostering a kitten at the moment
He's total opposite lol
A right feisty handful
Really surprised mine let's the kitten
Do what ever he likes
Steals his toys his food his favourite spot to sleep and finds his tail to be
The ultimate cat toy
Yet not once has he been nasty to
The kitten and I was worried
About the kitten getting hurt
In the beginning lol

my freind used to live here, and got a lovely wee tabby female kitten despite some hissing on first encounters both ted and dougal protected her while outside and lied all snug up to her, yeh ted and dougal let aerith do the same and snuggles, if they heard a distress call from little aerith they would both go running :)

edit: a few pics of dougal in his prime :)

so cute :)

i remember what i first said the day we took them home and the first time i seen them in the flesh.......

it was "wow their massive" hehe think they were 8-12 months when we got them and their pictures were up in asda on big posters for the cats protection league, they used our pics :)

this is enough of drunken cat talk for me :p

dougal just had his tabs and dad is not liking the biting.... i volunteered to give him tabs on the teeth end.... tonight and let dads hands heal a bit :)

We grind up Ronnies pills and mix them in a small dab of butter then I scoop a bit on my finger and hand feed him. No problems at all. He does like butter though.

I use a saucer and put the pill in center so it doesn't spread then gently use base of a tea spoon to crush pill up into fine powder -then plop a dab of butter in and mix -

Just try him on butter first to see if he likes it - also double cream works sometimes. - I gave up fighting them ages ago as it stresses the cat up. :D

Good luck.

yep will try him on butter first and see if he takes to it, thanks for the advice :)

ah he didn't take the butter hes not ate all day as far as i know :(

got the tab in him easy though, dad held him and i used a tablet applicator thing that looks kinda like a syringe, i don't think he was expecting me to give him the tab, then he sat on dads knee afterwards with minimum stress :)

when he was eating the other day i noticed a loud grindy ratchety sound when his jaws were moving, that is something dad is going to tell the vet later today, he is due in this evening.

hehe aye mcnumpty, the old heres something tasty with a tab hidden, my sisters cat gets 2 capsule type tabs in his food and their clearly visible but he eats them along with the food :)

edit: reckon dougal has gum/teeth pain because his heart isn't circulating his blood properly plus that noise.

something similar to that is what we used earlier, a wee clip holds the tab and the syringe handle just pushes a wee rod that pops out the tab in the victims mouth :)

That tablet syringe looks useful
Save some damage to
The hands
Mine doesn't bat an eyelid at
Injections so the sight of that wouldn't
Bother him in the slightest
It's the flea stuff on the neck he hates
He can't stand even a drip of water
On him
Right southern softy cat lol
Not like the last one
Rain, sleet or snow he was out in it
Though he was born North of the
Border so well used to it lol
Any sort of liquid food dougal could be
Given?
Since he's seen that syringe thing with out freaking out
He might cope with syringe food
Though have to be careful it goes down his throat and not
Into lungs I would think

I'm lucky Bart is so co-operative. I hold him on his back, slightly squeeze his mouth and then drop the pill in the back when it opens. Just have to make sure it goes past the tongue or it will come back out. I think he quite enjoys the process as his paws don't even move

Fernley went to the vet for the first time with us for his check up. He wasn't impressed on the way but was fine during the visit and as soon as we got home.

The vet said he was a Chonkasaurus Rex (not her exact words) so he is on a bit of a diet! He's 5.7kg and should really be 5kg, so he is on 60 grams of food a day now.

Here he is glaring at the TV.

But sometimes he forgets to be grumpy and acts like a cat

dougal has passed tonight, he had a big lump on his stomach as well which the vet reckons was cancer, rip my furry pal, he will be sorely missed :(

Sorry to hear that Yrkoon - The pain does pass but the memories linger on.

The wife found a old cast iron cat door stop in greenhouse so today I cleaned it up and painted it.
We will put a small slab over Hollies resting place and put this cat on there.
