Show us your kitty cats

I've got no idea what I am going to do with the cat on moving day. Might have to give her to next door while I get the removal guys in and out all day. She usually dissapears all day and comes back at evening time but on that moving day I won't be there any more.

No good solution, tbh. You have to shut them in somewhere. Be tolerant with them while they adapt afterwards, but every cat takes these things differently so it my go fine, or it may be weeks of strife. Either way, they'll be comfortable in a month or two.

Had to put down our little Winston today. Was only 10 years old although by some that is considered old.

We had been force feeding him through a syringe for the past two weeks and didn't really see any improvement. He would go limp when picked up sometimes and could barely balance. Was basically sleeping all day and night.

Was hoping for some good news but vet basically said that he either been hit by something or got cancer and spending money on a scan was a waste of time. Whatever it was he went downhill very fast as he was fine a couple of months back.

We still have our dog but don't think we will have any future pets. The pain is just too much for the short life that they live. :(

very saddened to hear that, wishing u and your family all the best :(

Anyone here feed their cats a raw food diet?

If so, are there any decent recipes that are "tried and tested" that can be recommended?

I think everyone want's to know the answer to this one.

The only raw meat Ronnie has is sirloin steak when I have mine once a week -when I trim it I cut a piece off for him -chop it up- and hand feed him - That's his treat.
Wife buys raw chicken breasts but we cook them and he will eat it as soon as it's cooled a bit but if it's in fridge for a day and we give it to him he looks at it then looks at us and says "you must be kidding"

Other than that -mice - birds -rabbits is only fresh meat he has and he gets them himself.

I think we have tried him on every make of cat food out there - if there is one he likes we buy a box or two then next feed he sniffs it and walks off.
cats are the most fussy buggers out there.

Our other cat Holly would eat anything and I put that down to her being a stray for a number of years and when food was about she couldn't help eating it no matter what it was.
:D

So sorry to hear this :(

Indeed. My remaining cat TJ will really enjoy a type or brand of cat food for maybe 2/3 weeks. Then he just looks at it and walks off, or eats the jelly and leaves the meat. Its getting harder to know what to get for him.

Don't mind me

I've been visiting my father this weekend and grabbed a pic of the very old and very tired chonker, Rosie, after playing with her. Not 100% sure on how old she is but he's had her for 16 years and she was at least 1 year old they think when he got her from the rescue centre. She was all skin and bones when he first got her, shes now a super chonker lady of leisure. She was all black like the cat in Frenzys post......

I have just cut the grass and to be honest it kicked the beejeebers out of me so much so I have taken to my bed.
Buttons sat on a bin watching the grass cutting not once offering to help yet he seems the more knackered?
By the way this is not my cat this is a frequent visitor and always welcome.

Another visitor.
Patience my friend.
Very skittish.
Usually if I am able to touch a cat its a done deal but this young lady needs a wee bit longer.

The kittens are now 6 months old and growing rapidly, especially Oscar. Both have had the snip and been micro chipped and are venturing outside. They took to the micro chip cat flap straight away which left me flabbergasted as it took my adult cats a while to get used to it. Oscar is massive, and at his last weigh in was 4.76kg which put's him almost two kilos heavier than his sister Cleo and 0.75kg heavier than Abby who is 13 years old. Whereas Cleo is gentle (mostly) and thinks about things before doing them, Oscar is like a tank and goes barging in without thinking. Their first venture into the garden was a prime example of this. We have a 6 foot high fence at the side of the house with horizontal planks with gaps between each one. Oscar ran at the fence and tried jumping at it which resulted in a epic fail and bouncing off. Cleo was watching him and then walked up to the fence and climbed it like a ladder. Oscar then copied her but now they were both on top of the fence walking towards each other from opposite ends and something had to give when they met in the middle. Oscar jumped off the fence onto what I presume he thought was going to support him and promptly vanished into the centre of my Spirea bush. The poor chap couldn't get out so he was screaming his head off until I assisted him. He hasn't done that since!! Out the front there is a cherry blossom tree and they can both easily climb it just by using their very sharp claws. Once up there they run around as if they lived in trees all the time, it's unreal. They were stalking a Robin the other day and it was leading them on a very merry dance going from bush to fence to shed to fence and back to bush. It was on the fence with them both at the bottom staring up at it when it flew off and Oscar started screaming at it as if to say it had a cheek for flying off and not jumping into his mouth. My neighbour was with me watching them play and we both looked at each other and she said that's a new one on her as she had never seen a cat do that before. The pair of them do some really funny and often strange things from time to time. Abby still doesn't like them although she is mellowing towards them a bit. She even sniffed them yesterday without growling!! Anyway here are some pictures although it's very difficult getting decent images outside as they don't stay still long enough.

A couple of days before we got them at 11 weeks old (Cleo on the left, Oscar on the right)

Buttons a frequent visitor to my flat, in fact he seems to spend more time with me than at home.
Here he is rehearsing for an upcoming ballet production in my PC chair I only need to leave for a second before he claims it as his own.
When I first met Buttons he was virtually untouchable a rather nasty bully but now, although you still need to be wary, he is a different cat and will even allow me to rub his belly, for a short while anyway :D :D
