Show us your kitty cats

Years ago when I got home from work our female cat ran up to me -put her front legs round my ankle and popped a kitten out -think there was another 4 - Not long after that our other female cat gave birth to.
A few years later the dad adopted me and he was the best cat I have ever had -Could do anything with him and he never clawed or bit once. Some bar stuart ran him over out side one nght.

Now that it's gone colder and the weather has been downright miserable Ozzy has decided to stop his wild roaming and finally figured out that he is better off at home dry and warm and getting spoiled rotten. The past four months have been a nightmare and I have been lucky to see him for 10 minutes of the day and that was at night when he came home to stuff his face. At least he did come home to check in every day this year, last year he would go anything up to 4 days before checking in. I walked for miles looking for him and last year I found him in a small wood down the road from us so at least I could go and check on him and take a handful of nicies for him so he remembers what he was missing. He had made a little nest like bed under some bracken. This year I just couldn't find him at all despite walking for hours on end so god knows where he was going. I know he wasn't being taken in to other peoples houses as he always came home stinking of green stuff. I don't know why he does this, last year was his first year out and about so it came as a real shock but prepared me well for this year.

The people we got him and his sister from live on a farm in the middle of nowhere near a village called New Byth out near Turriff which is a area that Scottish Wild Cat's can be found. They said the mother cat, a tiny little 18 month old (at the time) all black cat got out once and the next thing they knew she was pregnant so I suppose it is possible a male Wildcat got hold of her. They were a litter of just two and I just had to have both of them. They were wild from the start and were quite vicious at first but they soon settled down although I still have the scars on my legs some 2.5 years later!! If they are hybrids it would explain a lot as they are massive, at least twice the size now than their mother was when I picked them up as kittens. I would love to do a DNA test but you need to swab the inside of the cheek for 15 seconds. That will be impossible as anything that goes into their mouths (especially Ozzy) get's destroyed rapidly. They went through so many toys so quickly when they were kittens we bought them a dog toy which was a rubber ring with a thick rope through it. Within a week only the rubber ring was left!! Only Ozzy does this going wild roaming thing, His sister Cleo is the complete opposite and loves nothing more than chilling at home and getting lots of attention and cuddles. She also looks just like a normal tabby unlike Ozzy who has completely different and quite stunning markings. Anyway, it appears he is home again now until next summer, thank god. It's been so stressful worrying about him all of the time and wondering if he is alright. At least I will be able to sleep properly at night now.

A couple of up to date pictures of them. First up is Ozzy giving me the "I will kill you hooman" look as I disturbed him yesterday. The second one was taken this morning while he was trying to look cute!!

I probably won't be waking up tomorrow morning with two of them wanting to murder me!!

Pastymuncher - I can't work out how you put the @ bit in.

Know how you feel - Ronnie is now about 12/14 and he used to wonder but came home every day but some times he would turn up at breakfast time - It is stressful and we have done the walk up and down road -across the fields - We found him once in a ditch under a hedge and we think he got dingded by a car - had to go get the car to bring him back although he was only shook up- Stressfull times.
Now like today he has only gone out to do the two P's.
At the moment he is crashed out infront of the log burner.
He has been like this for near on a year as there is another big black cat roaming the area. He beat Ronnie up once - expensive vet trip.
We wish Ronnie was young again.

I wish I was young again.
:)

Yay, I didn't get murdered in my sleep!! Ozzy did just come in and frighten the life out of me though. He just appeared on my desk next to me without making a sound. He has somehow gone from coming through the cat flap like a cannon ball just fired from a cannon to making no noise at all. I think the next microchip catflap will be one of the app connected ones that tell you who just came in and loads of other stuff.

@DXP55 To tag someone you type the @ then start typing the username (no space between the @ and the name) and you get a pop up to the left. Select the username from it and job done.

Yes it was extremely stressful not knowing where he was and if he was ok. My wife couldn't understand why I was so worried (according to her they are "just cats") but they are my world and I love them to bits. She thinks I am joking when I say I would get rid of her before the cats!!
:D
:D

I must have walked for five or six miles everytime I went looking for him including across fields to a small wood two fields away where I thought he was going but never found him there. I was actually glad he wasn't going there as it's getting dangerous in there now. The trees are shallow rooted and there are dozens that have blown down in the wind and dozens more that have fallen but are caught up on the thinnest of branches on neighbouring trees ready to topple. Everytime there is a gale more trees come down. I tried fitting him with a tracker but he goes crazy when you put a collar on him and with him going god knows where he may have got caught up and detatched the collar aand tracker and lost it anyway. The day someone comes up with a live tracking chip the size of a cat microchip they will be a millionaire overnight!!
