Show us your kitty cats

Daisy has been unwell since late Autumn and has lost some weight, which being a white & black and 14 years young was to be expected, but the past few weeks she has been getting worse, to the point I booked a visit to the vets for this coming Tuesday at 17:45.

Sadly today we returned home and she is struggling to walk, is crying a painful cry and hasn't stooled or had a wee since yesterday, so with a heavy heart, we took her to an emergency vets at 8pm tonight and then agreed that she hasn't got long left and we agreed to have her put down....That did really hurt.

She is having a garden burial tomorrow, so she can continue to do the rounds.

04/2010 (She joined us in late 2013) Died 11/01/2025

RIP Daisy.

Why expected with a black and white cat?

Mine (Bandit) was a tuxedo and made it to a month shy of twenty years.

I read that expected life was between 12 - 13 years, but tbh I didn't research that much, just a figure I had remembered.

Just shy of 20 years is a cracking innings.

Tiny pic of my tiny cat "Grey" that we had to put down on Thursday. (picture taken that morning)
20 1/2 years old. Getting blind, check out dem cattttaracts.
Getting a little bit demented too.
Had a Tumour/growth in her jaw which was discovered the same day in an xray by the vet. As she was already sedated we agreed that it was best to put her down there and then :/
She had been struggling to eat for a week and we were force feeding her mush/paste.
She was described as miracle cat and one of the best condition 20 year old cats they had ever seen on previous visits.

RIP little kitty. We had to do the same to her sister 6 months before so its been a bad time for us.

We are now Catless and for just now that is fine.

sad efour....

RIP Grey

Aww. I'm so sorry. Really makes me sad when one of the little blighters runs over the rainbow bridge.
But wow, she had a long life. Full of love and treats, I suspect.
The only silver lining to losing a precious little soul - there are lots more in dire need of being rescued.

Aww. So sorry. The poor little might.

Only if they have blue eyes. Then they are more likely to get skin cancer and go deaf. There was a lovely all white cat in my area that had the most piercing blue eyes. He was as deaf as a post. But he lived to 18.

Thoughts with you for your loss, we unfortunately lost our 21 year old boy just before the new year. Found he had passed in the night, picked up his ashes to put with his mother and brothers ashes so they're back together.

Sorry to hear :/

My mum’s house was always a cat house much to the annoyance of my dad lol.

If we didn’t work and had more space away from the roads here then I’d be tempted.

Sorry to hear about the recent loses in the thread. Always so sad when we lose them :(

After losing Ernie a few months ago when he was only 8 month old we recently decided it was great having 3 cats so started looking out for another kitten. Always fancied a ginger and that made the search a little harder but up popped Rusty a few days ago. The lady who's cat had them has done an incredible job with all 6 kittens, she has daughters aged 6, 8 and 9 so safe to say they were being handled constantly so are incredibly well socialised. We picked him up on Saturday. He settled straight in, he now considers the house to be his domain.
Our other 2 cats have had very different reactions. Oscar who is 5 is most unimpressed and has basically ****** off like he did when we got Bert and Ernie. He's a Norwegian Forest cat so these temps are nothing to him and he's very happy to spend 14 hours a day outside, he is just popping in for a chow and a nap away from Rusty. Bert our 1 year old on the other had is obsessed with him and follows him everywhere. He is delivering the odd bop on the head with his paw but its just play and he just needs to learn he's a much bigger boy. He's making all the right noises, chirps etc and is clearly wanting to play. You forget just how tiny they are.
