I got my mate who's a detailer to work his magic, it was seriously pink before!
You probably use more fuel to pull into the station, off /on the engine and then pull away from a stop than you would lose from carrying the extra 20kg
I hear this is a great economy boost!
e; I must say I personally feel my car drives better with a full tank of fuel but that might just be a placebo (fairly sure it is
)

Irony is the MR2 is the better handling car.
£20 a time in an Evo on the delusional impression that it will improve cornering, just LMAO. That won't even get you an hours driving in one of those.
I concur with Howard, no time for pumping petrol so I use the full capacity. If you took the gauge away I honestly don't think I could tell you whether the tank was full or empty, same on any car I have ever owned.

I can't see why people have such animosity towards how someone fills their own car. I mean it only effects him, and I doubt he'll change his ways because of us regardless of how correct our logic is

I'm pretty surprised that it's possible to notice the effect of the weight on something as sophisticated as an Evo. Pretty poor, if so.
That must be a joke? I suppose you've driven both a MR2 and an Evo 8? I drive both regularly and it's not even close.
As stated before, a full tank of petrol can weigh as much as a person but oil, coolant and screen wash or any other liquid in the car doesn't come close to equalling that weight even if combined.
I need cold hard facts!
I fill up my tank with 58 litres (62L tank), the first half gives me approx 150 miles average. The 2nd half gives me a fraction less accounting for the few litres remaining. So both halves get the same economy pretty much.

But you arent saving the weight of a person. Your saving at best half your average male (a bit over 6 stone) when carrying a full tank of fuel vs 1/4 tank. When the Kerb weight of an Evo is 1450kg another 40kg is going to made sod all difference.

As I said, I pass a Shell station regularly so don't mind spending an extra 10 minutes a week putting in petrol twice instead of just once.

When you've shed a couple of hundred KG, perhaps then you will see the difference. It's not like the car is lightweight that even small drops in weight make a difference.
