Finally have the car back with the correct wheels/tyres and had the chance to give it a decent clean and take some photos (just in case something else happens!).

Those wheels just don't work on that to my eye. Are they OEM? The rest of the car looks great.

They aren't, and they certainly divide opinion (though I fear in a Captain Rum (Blackadder) kind of way). I like them as they're 17s which give a way better ride, plus are very light. They actually look good as a 17 too, which is an issue with a lot of the standard BMW/BBS type wheels - they only look good when they're big (CSLs for example), and are the staggered fit - again this can be hard with a 17.

Glad it came up well though, the pictures really show the paint off well. Silver in person always feels like a waste of time doing a full clean/polish as the end result is so similar to the start...

God I love that car so much. Your garage is top notch too, so only a little jealous.

Same colour and engine my old one was :)

TIP: If the tailgate glass starts opening when you start the engine its quite a common fault. It means water has got into the switch. Just prise the cover off gently and dry it out. Alternatively, lock the doors before you start the engine - no idea why that works !

Cool - how long did you have it? Mine was only £1800, seems really good for the money.

I remember looking at adverts for these a while back and seeing someone advertising one really cheaply because of that problem, assuming it was a big electrical issue! Mine's fine so far though, only a few minor things to sort out.

That was part of what I was going for, but like I said, they certainly divide opinion!

Will be getting the stock 108s refurbed at some point, but they're pricy as they're split rims, and it'll only be a matter of time before they look crap again.

Mine was an 05 plate I bought from new. Intention was to drive it into the ground but some money came my way so I upgraded a couple of years ago. X type was always underrated imo.

It's got a pedestrian mincer on the front!

If it's not standard give us details! right now it looks like a mid engined underpowered toyoto :P
