Probably already been answered, nice car and choice of engine...But why out of interest a 7 series?

It is the only decent saloon from that era in the BMW range.

I was struggling to find a 3 series estate with a decent petrol engine, same with the 5 in my price range that was not either moon miles or terrible spec/condition.
I then decided to look at bigger saloons, so naturally the 7 came up.
Found a couple of 7 adverts and figured why not! I have always liked big cars and it seemed like a good example. You get all the toys, a bit of oomph, it's a bit unusual, understated and very refined.
What's not to like?

Facelift E65s are ridiculously good value for money nowadays.

This one looks lovely, but then I don't really want to get something so similar to my car.

My old boss bought a 2002 V8 one for about £3500 I think.

Nothing went wrong with it, but he only had it about 4 months, and then sold it cos he was scared something would go wrong with it.

He is now leasing a Kia :confused:

It's 10 years old and it's still worth 10 grand! Thats not bad going really?

The big saloons have always been known as depreciation disasters, though.

a lot of car for the money, I'd be tempted if I had a decent enough pay to deal with potential bills.

I have been beating that drum for a long time

The warranty is nuts on them, though. This makes the cost of ownership a lot higher.

It is after all a luxury saloon, and the flagship class for BMW. I wouldn't expect it to have the same running costs as a 116d
