It's always seems to be the way: someone buys something different and interesting and it gets slated on OcUK by the BMW/Audi brigade. Sad times really.

Not a concept I’m unfamiliar with.

Drove it on to work today. Really pleased with it to be honest. Just need to adjust the headlamps and sort rear tyres. Feels to me like it’s a good blend of the sporty and economy whilst looking smart. I didn’t go in expecting Civic R performance when I drove one when released but still nice low end grunt and a more useable cabin than the Insight.

I only paid £3900 for it so now offers real VFM in my book as something a bit different.

It's probably worth pointing out that I really liked Jonnycoupe's old Insight hybrid, but the CRZ seems a little wet. Not powerful enough to match the appearance, and not economical enough to sway most dieselists.

 Really?! Still got it BTW :p
Yes! It wasn't my cup of tea, but it WAS a technical masterpiece for its age. No compromise, well designed to do one thing, economical driving. The rear arch covers, the shape, the fact that it forgoes back seats in pursuit of better drag coefficients and space for the old school NiMH cells.

The CRZ looks nice, but IMO doesn't do it's predecessors justice in the tech/economy departments.

Dude, look at those seats! My mum had some lovely grey velour seats. In her 1993 Pug 306 1.8 XT. 1993.

FWIW, I have massive respect for Jonnycoupe; his work on his cars and his what he does at work is impressive. I'm sure the CRZ is an impressive feat of engineering too. But won't someone think of the children!

I was looking for a white GT with red leather but this was too good not to give a try.

Red leather would have made a huge difference. But for under 4 grand, one can't really complain!

Nah m9, should've bought a mondeo or e39 530i

Haha, thanks! Gushing praise even Paradigm has had a 180deg view from that first post in the Insight thread!

Quite like the non leather for Japanese seats as they just sag and the smell inside takes me right back to my 1996 Integra SiR-G.
Ironically I did think of the children as atleast I can get them in the back of the CRZ! :D
