Show Us Your Motors!

Leave my car alone you miserable ********! :p :D

I must admit, I thought the alloys looked odd and discovered that they had previously been refurbished and the inserts and inner bit of the alloy had been painted black, instead of anthracite. This does makes them look a bit strange and "off". They need a refurb at some point anyway so it wasn't too much of an issue.

I'm happy to confirm that they are the genuine 220m alloys and the angle of the photo (taken from about 1.5 metres in front of where the centre point of the rear alloy would be) may explain why the rear alloy appears weird. I must admit - I still don't even see it!

And no, no lowering is happening or any other dodgy mods. It is a *sensational* car as it is, and to be honest, way better than I was expecting. I've never had a car that just accelerates so relentlessly and the DCT gearbox is just amazing and doesn't even allow a pause in the acceleration like a manual gearbox would do. However, I think the stand out option on the car is the Logic7 (I'm getting so old :( ). Maybe after nearly 3 years of listening to an E46 HK system, my perception is warped, but it has really highlighted how utterly crap the E46 sound system was. In fact, it's so good I have spent most journeys cruising at 50mph, with gearbox in auto, just enjoying the quality of the sound.

It is a much better cruiser than the E46, it looks better, it has much better tech, it's much more comfortable, the seats are better and it is much quicker. The quality of the interior is also a step up. Everything feels like it's got a better fit and finish than the E46. My E46 interior was in great condition with not so much as a rattle, but the E92 is just better IMHO. The doors are heavier, they close with a more desirable "thud" and the materials are better in most of the cockpit.

Dislikes:

- The steering isn't as good as in the E46 M3. It doesn't feel as natural at all and the servotronic steering means that although it feels heavy at higher speeds, it feels false and almost like an invisible hand is just holding gently onto the steering resisting my turning.
- It's the quietest 4.0l V8 I've ever heard!
- Can't change the dang front headlight lenses like on the E46 to freshen up the front end.
- 22-26mpg isn't great. The £535 a year contribution to HM Treasury also stings.

I can't believe you guys had me worried enough about the alignment of my rear wheels that I just went outside in the dark and wet for 15 minutes with a ruler measuring and remeasuring the gaps and comparing them with the other side. :p

Happily, they were all uniform!

Its easy to make them loud. @Voxination

As much as I would like *loud*, it is my everyday car, and cold starts are already pretty noisy as standard.

Drone of any kind would be unacceptable also. I was looking at the 1.75 exhaust modification. Apparently people with the so called "modest" 2 pipe mod are very borderline on the noise tests are trackdays, and from doing a fair share of trackdays, I can say that that is pretty loud.

Shame about that dent though.

Hahaha..ha...ha

Electric exhaust cut outs are the way to go if doable. Choose between straight pipes when on it, or serene silenced when you don't want to draw attention.

e.g. one for the E92 M3

It's just the photo angle, makes the wheels look a bit weird, and suspension look a bit non-OEM, like a FrankenM3 of sorts.

Every car looks a bit questionable from certain angles.

Callum said his X pipe mod was great, but it did have drone on the motorway. I think the logical solution would be leave the exhaust alone and update the intake to an Eventuri. It does wonders for the S54, and should be the same for the S65.

Leaving the exhaust alone at least keeps it sounding good at full chat, but what you're missing is the induction noise from low rpms, which the carbon intake should satisfy

Need primary decat and remap. 450hp

They are loud just soundproofing is too good. Shame really as the M performance exhaust is £2.5k. Still not heard any with the exhaust mod that people rave about.

You sound optimistic with that MPG too !

I guess you might get MPG in the mid 20's, but you wont manage that if you plan on driving it properly :p

Both my cars could average about 30MPG but I drive them a bit spiritedly at times so I usually get sub 25.

You haven’t driven a V8 before have you. I only say that as I thought 22+ would be possible

My lifetime average in 8000miles is 19.5 and that’s not being silly. You won’t get much over 25 on a long run.

Doesn’t help the computer over reads by about 1-1.5mpg
