That is pure BS it depends on the car and colour of the car.

Broadly speaking, it's true. Silver looks great 99% of the time. Black looks dreadful 99% of the time. Other colours such as gold or white work on some cars, but not on this Hyundai.

Would be what I would be doing. Not a fan still?

wasnt so much for the whine, its more for the instant boost in performance from the moment you put your foot down, i have only every driven turbo cars and stock ones at that, but aside from the whine, people do tend to favour the supercharger for its instant power and probably lower maintenance.

if i wanted big power and the sound of the turbo spool then i would go turbocharged no doubt about it, but in terms of sound, some turbo cars be it factory or an upgrade kit can sound god awful.
Its not instant instant with a supercharger, you'll never have that instant pickup like you do in a NA car. The supercharger has better response and the power delivery is more linear than a turbo, but its not NA instant. :p

Indeed but that is why the regular M3's are going up, particular clean ones and CS ones, the CSL is dragging them all up. Was a CSL for sale not long ago for like 95k and it sold I believe.
S15 and E46 M3 are my dream cars, looking at the prices the S15 seems more realistic, there's a clean example less than 10 miles from me. The only downside is auto and it has an SR20DE... But, I would love an RB in an S15 anyways, so sounds like a longer project. :p

If anyone is wondering, the mechanic that built that MX5 has quoted me 8k to do the same swap, as he did on George's Mx5. :(

the veloster is a really nice car, have to choose the right colour though and while it is strange to be a 3/4dr car it is pretty unique really, 1.6 turbo power and can sound nice with an upgraded exhaust. never driven one, but would have one if i didnt need sensible.

Owned a standard Veloster for just over 4 years and did around 170k km in it in Australia.

All it ever had was dealer servicing every 15k km and two sets of tyres after 75k km each time (factory fit Hankook Ventus Prime 2).

Nothing fell off, went wrong or broke. Had a minor issue with the HU that was sorted under warranty. It was the first version of the car, before they introduced the rear wiper. Very good standard kit on the Aus spec.

I thought it was a great car. I’d be worried about kerbing the wheels as the 18s don’t have much rim protection.

Steering feel wasn’t as good as some cars I have driven (some good fwd) but OK, plenty of grip from the front end.

Power was OK on the standard engine, needed a few revs and tailed off a little towards redline but returned good economy and didn’t use much oil (less than 1L between services) even as it aged.

Sure the rear seat and door is a little odd but if you put the seats down it’s quite a big car and you can open the third door to help load things instead of leaning over the front.

Ok, I think I will go for a gunmetal grey or the like having gone through some options. Got the car today, just a smidge of power difference between it and the 1.0 turbo ^-^, drove nicely :)

Wheels are booked in for Monday so I wont have my car for a few days :'( but it's going to be worth it.
