Nice. Thoughts?

I've been once before (10 or so years ago). I might be heading there next month!
Nice range of corners and one long straight. Plenty of run off areas too so don't need to be too worried about screwing up!

So yeah pretty easy once you get used to it

Still a great looking car the E46, When I bought my 3.0i Z4 3-4 years ago my choice was either a 330ci coupe or convertible with a manual or a Z4, obviously my Z4 came up first and local and went with that, I'd still have one now if I knew it was low mileage and in great condition, probably have less interior rattles than my zed xD

I really fancied owning an E46 again for old times sake more than anything, saw this come up cheap and bought it just for the hell of it :D

I've not been driving many of my other cars since I got this

They truly were/are fantastic engines and machines. My plan if I keep it long enough is to restore a few bits on it like the nav unit and get some of the leather repaired and a few bits around the bodywork including changing the grill back to standard.

2003 330ci Imola Red Manual 120k

Has the incredibly dated sat nav unit which seems to have a problem with the pixels on the display and the harmon kardon heated seats etc.

Nice buy!

I still have mine, mind you I barely drive it these days but when I do it puts a smile on my face

The E46 330ci is still definitely a car I'd go back to if I had to move back to a cheap car. The engine sounds fantastic, the handling is very good and although time is starting to catch up with it, it has aged very well.

Or very possibly the exhaust VANOS solenoid...

I swapped the inlet solenoid for the exhaust solenoid and the fault still presented itself on the exhaust side, so that kind of rules that out.

I did, however, replace the piston that the solenoid operates - car drove ok for about 20 miles and then the fault came back...

My mate has one, it's immaculate. He's looking for an E46 M3 but is dreading the day he has to sell it as he knows he won't get anywhere near what it's worth (as in, for what he's put into it and its condition against what's currently for sale).

It makes me happy to see another 330! Mine is currently Sorn whilst I de-niggle it:

Central locking not working - £35 for relays in the GM5 unit to be replaced
ABS and TC issues - wheel sensors cleaning or replacing, abs sensor ring replacing £80
New thermostat £not sure
New radio head unit of some kind £?
Steering wheel retrimmed if I have a spare £150
Wheel refurb if I have a spare £400
New wings if I can be arsed!

At the moment i'm going through looking at first cars for my daughter and trying to guide her to something half decent.

I dread to think how you'd be in the future @Acme.

"Hey dad, look at this Fiesta, it's in really good condition and seems a great buy"

"Yeah, but check out that rusty old piece of crap over there. That's what you want! It's cheap!"

isnt that the dad out of transformers ha

Factory 328, thought it would be good to document what it looked like, before I get my hands on it. :p
