Grudas, how do you rate the Ecstas? Seen they have some decent reviews, comparable to more premium makes on stopping distance and handling speeds, yet I've not seen many people using them to get a 'real world' opinion... Thinking about it, I'm not sure how comparable your experience will be to mine, 940kg RWD vs 1570kg FWD with double the torque, but still interested in hearing your thoughts.

Car still looks great as well. I'd echo paradigm's statement regarding colour too.

I had them on my Nissan Primera GT back in the day and that was 4 odd years ago. Not a bad tyre for a run around but there is a lot better out there. The Goodyear Eagle F1 AS3 that I have on my Saab are in a different league. Although i think 17" is the smallest size for them. Dunlop still make some pretty good tyres for the smaller rim sizes though. I have Dunlop SportBlue Responce on my Ignis Sport which are very good for 16" rim.

I still think your MX5 is one of my favourite MX5s on here and across other forums I frequent. The colour is superb, the look just works, though I think I’d probably have 10 or 15mm extra ride height, but that’s just because of the types of roads I know I throw mine down!

seconded - would personally lose the decals but big love none the less... if you ever consider selling let me know, have always promised myself a mrk1 :D

cheers man! the colour is easily one of the best colours to ever be offered on a mk1 in my opinon! I never knew about it until I started researching the cars. Mine is usually trashed on b-roads etc and suspension handles it fine.

I had KU39's on my mazda 3 a while ago and they were decent midrange tyre for the money. These are HS51's and are not bad at all! but can bite in wet especially, this could be the fact that I barely carry any weight around on the rear and it kicks its back end out any chance it gets but I recall my other set of tyres with avon zv7s being better in the wet but not as good in the dry, these feel a bit more controlled and happy to be pushed, for the money(under £180 fitted) I can't complain!

you must be talking about ku39s which used to be the go-to kumho tyre.

These are newer HS51's but yes they're a midrange tyre and do everything well but don't compete with PS4's and AS3s etc. For the '5 I wanted it to be playful in wet and that's what I've got.

haha! thanks.

I'm 50/50 on those side stripes but they kinda work with the white wheels, easy to remove if I change my mind.

Agreed - I think the colour works really well and the car looks great.

I really fancied owning an E46 again for old times sake more than anything, saw this come up cheap and bought it just for the hell of it :D

I've not been driving many of my other cars since I got this

They truly were/are fantastic engines and machines. My plan if I keep it long enough is to restore a few bits on it like the nav unit and get some of the leather repaired and a few bits around the bodywork including changing the grill back to standard.

2003 330ci Imola Red Manual 120k

Has the incredibly dated sat nav unit which seems to have a problem with the pixels on the display and the harmon kardon heated seats etc.

Looks smart that! :) Imolarot II?

Colour really pops out at you my friends going to machine polish it to really bring it back to life.

I remember my old 320i SE of fail and my M3. I'm finding myself going back to older cars rather than hankering after something new I'd rather have three old motors that I almost 'grew up' with.

I believe it's called a mid life crisis.

I hope you have more luck than me with the one I just bought recently!

Picked up a 52 plate 330ci convertible with a hardtop.

I have replaced the VANOS seals and pistons as they were shot. I now can’t get rid of a P0014 code and the timing is all over the place.

The garage is a BMW specialist and are having to restart the job to find the problem - it’s been back to them 4 times!

Done 1000 miles since I bought but I don't have enough cash invested in it to be concerned if it blew up :D

That sounds like camshaft sensor to me?
