I dont think its the necessity, more the looks. And they look too small.

But then I'm not too smitten with the overall styling to be honest.

Sure it sounds awesome though. AMG engine with an exhaust tuned by AM is a good combo.

I knew you'd come round... Now you just need an E30. :p

Sills and stuff are obvious to check, but make sure you check the front chassis rails as well, take all the undertrays off and have a proper good look and a poke around.

its the most solid mx5 ive bought tbh.. more solid than my turbo'd one was lol

My first one had new arches and sills (done properly with a proper folder of project log pictures) and a full re-spray, LSD, full leather with red piping, factory Nardi, etc.

But they forgot about the chassis rails, which were well on the way to rotting out.... :p

Not as bad as some though, including Frozennovas, but I just thought it was funny they totally missed them.

Second was the most ****ed, rotten arches and sills all fillered and undersealed, rotten boot floor, rotten scuttle...

Fortunately the current one is really really solid and never welded! One sill may need some TLC in a year or so but at the moment its just a little bubble on the bottom. If I keep it any length of time I'll weld in a repair section.

Not anymore that is true! I just meant before. :)

I wish I found something like this when I sold my turbo'd five. Otherwise I would have just swapped running gear over.. Problem is now I got an itch to turbo this one.. But got so many other projects to finish as well.. lol

I know a guy selling most of a turbo kit for £450. Just needs IC, pipework, and clutch maybe.

Just bought this.. for some reason

If I ever sell the M3, I shall be looking for one of these for a fun / track / drift car, cracking motors and as famous and amazing as the MX5 is I've never owned one. Looks a very clean example that, may I ask as to what such an example cost please?

Not hating but I just don't get the MX5 - though I suspect a lot of that is because I don't feel comfortable in low down cars - if I'm driving something smaller I'm much more hot hatch oriented.

Out of interest have you driven one? I myself find hot hatches like my Clio 172 faster to drive across the B roads, however for general fun and some back end slides without getting into danger speed slides, the mx5 is ideal
