@msm722 lol. i couldn't really. most of the time it was taken on a trailer to events, It was my track/rally pig. @ Magicboy, i love all escorts right up to mk6, although i do agree they lost the magic after the s1/s2 rst/cosworth

I dont understand - a 'rep' of a £500 car? Why would you do this instead of buying a GTi? Is there something about your model that makes it better or something?

What is going on in this thread

Like i said before each to their own. Nothing wrong with the thread,
Just because a car isn't worth a lot of money doesn't mean its instantly crap.
That escort was my present to myself after coming back from iraq for the first time, i paid £2000 for as it had already received a few modifications including a Dunnell 2l zetec engine. i then bought the wrc spoiler and few other things because i think they looked good and would help me on the events i did.
I loved the car to bits and was gutted to see it go.
As for the orange sierra, i like that too :)

I thought it was mandatory that all Escorts after the Mk3 were used as scrappage allowance.

Even the MK4 which was used for the S2 Turbo?

Isurance companies like to charge about twice the amount for one over the normal model whereas all the bits are littering scrappies and can be had for about 10p. Add to that the fact that there's not many nice ones about as they've been ruined by the Barry boy crew, see above :)
