Show Us Your Motors!

I own an MG midget and bought a £7 raffle ticket months ago to win a Mark 1 1967 MGB which has just been restored and found out I won it last Monday so they delivered in on Saturday.

Problem is my other half says I cant keep both so come spring will have to decide whether the midget or MGB goes :(

Fixed that for you :D

That's lovely, congratulations on the win. I remember people hankering after those when I was teenager and I turn 55 this month !

Saying goodbye to the M2 this week.

It has been an amazing car for the past 3+ years, lots of smiles per gallon and I've done nearly 45k miles over the years in it (the car is on 47k now).

I cannot fault the M2, with the N55 engine, even the stock exhaust sounds unreal. It's been a brilliant all rounder but onwards and upwards.

A sneak peak of the new one although I don't have any better photos as I haven't collected it yet, and it hadn't even been prepared for sale when I saw it. But I fell in love with it - definitely heart over head decision. :o

Fingers crossed tomorrow I will collect.

Mk6 Golf GTi was too sensible to be fun when I didn't want to take the 360 (weather and/or considering the miles for a long 80% motorway trip) and not sensible enough whenever I had to do the odd journey to work...

Cue a slightly sheddy DC5 that is in need of a lot of love to fill the less sensible daily tick-box, at least the odd commutes I have to do will be fun.... although when the office opens back up fully I imagine I'll pick up a proper boring / torrid workhorse.

Apologies for the forecourt photo, only one I've stopped to take so far and it's filthy after the drive home from the south coast.

Already ordered for it;
All the parts for MOT advisories ignored over the years :rolleyes: 4x Droplinks (only 3 with play but while I'm there) and 2x trackrod ends
New rear tyres, current ones are 9 & 11 years old and cracking all over the tread & sidewall despite the "but have plenty of tread" protests of the seller. Fronts fortunately a pair of decent Michelin PS4 so matching on rear (although will throw new ones on the front)
Standard wheel nuts, the black extended ones look horrific
Standard jap plates for my plate that'll go on when V5 etc arrives, stick on one will go in favor of the stock plateholder

To do;
Fit/Sort above parts :)
Incredibly deep, deep clean inside and out
Try and polish up the headlights, new ones are available but just shy of £400 the pair so will try sandpaper first :D
Remove the tints, limo black on rear 3 and 'medium' on fronts. Maybe 15 years ago I'd have been a fan but nowadays it's not for me.

Aside from the above though, seems a decent honest car under the grime and penny pinching, was a Grade 4 import 6 years or so ago. Was painful having to pay current market prices for one (albeit at the bottom of the market) rather than what a good one would have cost a few years ago but likewise I can't see them coming back down really so it is what it is.

They were stunning cars when they got released and still look as good today, another timeless design and proper epic cars, be a solid investment that in years to come for sure. :)

Cheers guys, hopefully it'll be a shrewd buy in time but likewise a DC5 has been on my 'to-own' list for quite some time and just happened that it fitted the bill of my requirements this time around.

Need to carry on at the gym mind, the recaros are incredibly snug :D

Will start up a proper thread once the gentle resto begins :)

Awesome. Was thinking about my old EP3 the other day, always wanted a DC5 instead but too rich for me at the time (and now!). Would love a tatty EP3 to play with but nothing is cheap anymore.

While you're doing the links, progressive springs and and a fast-road setup transform these I believe.

Ironically this purchase started with browsing for a decent ep3 (much like the DC5, never owned one just wanted to try one) and finding they're fetching very strong money - the saving vs the Integra felt hard to justify with how long I've wanted to try an Integra too :)

It'll have the geo redone at some point, it's running on Mugen suspension which is absolutely rock solid so deciding if to swap the springs out for something like Eibach pro's but one step at a time - there's also a wheel bearing somewhere that's gone but struggling to pinpoint exactly where, need to throw a friend in the back and go for a drive.
