The E36 M3 had it wheels refurb today by Andy at Powdercoating Shropshire and got to do many jobs on the M3 using his ramp which I’ll update my main thread with but I love the way it looks and quality of Andy’s work is always top notch:

Transformed the car I’ve not touched the paint yet but going to attempt to paint correct it myself with DA polisher will take it easy and slowly but paint needs a lot of TLC.

Took the Insight to Caffeine & Machine for one of there "I Love you man" evenings where there is a discussion with their guy Alex Goy an a car celebrity - This months was Jonny Smith. 1 hour discussion after his career and amusing stories from Max Power, Fifth Gear etc, a break and then 30mins Q&A. Then of course loiter around at the end. Got directed under the tree where the talk was talking place (previously ive only been to ones in the tent)

Amusing chat with Jonny explaining the finer points of your car to ex-Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum  :D

@DRZ just taken loads of photos of you going around croft. I'm one of the official photographers today. Will come look you up!

I didn’t see this until just now and I don’t think we spoke today. Were you stationed in the pit lane or roving around?

Overall bar the initial chaos it was a pretty decent day and no doubt raised loads for charity. I ended up having lunch with Tiff Needell as well which was an unexpected little bonus!

I was in the pit lane most of the day. Every time I wondered off and walked past your car you weren't with it so we never met. Was a great day and a great cause. I also had a chat with Tiff which was another unexpected bonus today as well. Will go through the photos tomorrow. I'm pooped today

Hi there

So I had my own first attempt at machine polishing using a DA-12 on the M3, sorry for not really having any before photos but the paint had several deep scratches and really bad swirling.

I did two cuts, one a deep cut and then a polishing cut followed by a wax and then sealant. A full days work but I am over the moon with the results, the swirling is 90% reduced and most the scratches came out. Even better news I did not mess up.

I’m gonna attempt to do Corvette next, was gonna attempt it today but decided to just relax in the hot weather instead, but on the corvette as it’s black, soft paint and fibre glass shell I will skip the deep cut and just try a light polishing attempt as it is just swirling on the Corvette and I’ll get and before and after photo. But glad I’ve given it a shot myself as doing it myself will save me a lot of money and it’s a skill good to have. :)

Always astonishes me just how much better a properly polished car looks. Yet I've never had it done. I've sworn to myself that when my new one arrives, one of the first things I'll do is it have it professionally polished and a ceramic coat applied.
