Soldato
I keep on looking at 140i's and Mk 8 Fiesta ST's to replace my current Mk 7 Fiesta ST. It just feels like a lot of money to spend (looking at around £23k for 140i, 17k for Fiesta Mk 8) with maybe £6k part ex for my Mk 7 but I could comfortably afford it. I mean, I enjoy my car and I don't really spend money on much else; it might also be the last opportunity to buy a real decent displacement engine as we approach the 'No ICE sold cars plan'
I do have a credit card with a limit of £13k at 0% for 13 months. At the end of that I could likely find a 0% Balance transfer (no fee) and essentially pay for the car over around 2, maybe even 3 years at 0%.
Mk 7 is approaching 83k miles now and it's actually the longest I've had a car ( 3 years) but has shown very early signs of a clutch slave cylinder needing replacing.
I've driven a mate's 140i plenty times and had a 340i before the Mk7 so I know I love the engine. I think maybe I need to test drive a Mk 8 Fiesta and see how I feel.
Or, just... keep the Mk 7 for another year..? Or, sell the fiesta and buy something that can tow a small trailer, and a track (motor)bike and start racing(?)
If you love your fiesta, a 140i will never quite feel as good to drive.
Quick, but you’ll always feel it’s just slightly lacking on a good B road.
