Show Us Your Motors!

It's the GT spec and has rather a lot of kit: adaptive cruise, HUD, CarPlay, heated and cooled seats with power and memory, dynamic LED headlights, surround view cameras, Bose hifi, power tailgate, on top of all the usual **** that modern cars come with now such as road sign detection, lane keep assist, emergency braking assist etc.
It wouldn't be my first choice of car, far from it, but it will do the job and will be comfortable. Wish it was automatic but when presented with both an auto and a manual, the Mrs went with the manual. At least it's a really good manual with a positive shift and short throw. The car is actually really rather pleasant to drive. It certainly drives a lot better than our current CR-V.

My brother has had years of trouble free motoring with Mazda so hopefully serves you well - I'm almost tempted sometimes as I quite like the look of the CX line but I'm much more of a Nissan person when it comes to control layout, etc.

I had similar issues with touch up paint on my orange/gold pearlescent V70R. A complete pain. And impossible to make the chips disappear.
Yep its a real PITA on most pearls regardless of which colour they are ....I think its possible to get good results & almost hide them though. Also if you can find one a decent sprayer can do wonders if they want to spend the time blending the old & new paint with lacquer & buffing it out but its so time consuming few will bother.....! So best to DIY & give it your best go instead!!

These are the after results...I think I can make it a bit better also with more layers in warmer weather with higher air temps I will revisit.

Then yesterday went over an unavoidable large pothole on a small B road & this happened
So I just went & ordered a new set of 4 Fujilight's as 8KG unsprung mass less weight so better handling, better brake performance as more air will enter the duct & the cars already perfect handling performance will be a little faster still! OEM component so no need to tell the insurance company either!

That's a shame about the pot hole. Very frustrating. Can be as careful as you like then that comes up out of your control.

Did you have your eyes on those other wheels anyway then? I'd live with the mark personally ;) current wheels look fab, I'll look the new ones up

Treated the Bullitt to a professional detail, full correction, PPF and ceramic. Will hopefully keep it nicely protected and a skoosh to keep clean..ish.

Decided to wrap the chrome and get rid of the stuck on Bullitt badge on the back as well as getting smoked covers for the rear lights. Think it suits the car a bit better. All easily removable should I ever change my mind or when the time comes to sell.

Loving every second driving it.

Yep sooner or later I was going to buy those alloys anyway as they improve brake temps & weight less so slightly improves fuel economy. The MK4 RS was actually built around those Fujilight alloys but as they cost so much more they made it an optional extra from the factory & used the cheaper to produce Interlagos & Jerez alloys instead as half the price (when ordered from the factory)!

Diamond cut alloys when they get damaged you cannot just leave it as it will rust badly & they are really hard to fix so I had little choice to buy a new set or just another new like for like replacement alloy for the damaged one. You can usually only repair a diamond cut alloy once on a lathe if the damage is not too deep but I think this one would need to be buffed down & painted no way to repair to the original finish as the damage is too deep :(

Even if its a factory spec part no which could be ordered when bought new?

Yes. Its a nightmare though unless you can find the original car spec build sheet and I dont think insurance companies should be able to get away with it. years ago i bought a used ford escort and the insurance company pointed out i hadn't been honest as i hadn't declared the sunroof. Turns out it wasnt factory fitted even though it was an option and was fitted later. it was a genuine ford one.
