Show Us Your Motors!

I must be mad, as my other 106GTi has been a reliability nightmare. I've just bought this to use over winter, the MR2 is a bit of a nightmare in snow on my 90mile a day commute.
98 106GTi, 90k on the clock, full MOT/service history, £1250 :)

Standard 106 gti is more comfortable than an MR2 tbh, I've done similar and plonked my MR2 in the garage for winter and using a 406 sri to knock about in!

90mile a day commute in a 106gti seems mad....but if you're used to an MR2 I guess it won't be that bad :p
I had planned to get something larger, but saw the GTi for sale and my heart ruled my head.

Always had a soft spot for the 106 GTIs, is that the going rate for a decent one?
They generally go for a little more, plenty around that price but most are shabby. They are quite unreliable though.

Specs are:

THP200 engine - 1.6 petrol twin-scroll turbo (200bhp/200lbft? I think)
GT - 19" (235), 340mm front discs

*Leather upgrade
*Satnav upgrade - 10GB HDD, SD Card, USB, Bluetooth (to phone and audio streaming), DVD, Builtin Phone
*JBL Hifi upgrade
*Black calipers
*Black front grille
*Directional lights
*Front spoiler

...er I think that's about it

...oh and xenons and tyre pressure monitor ...knew there was something

Handles well, no body roll and the noise produced by the butterfly valves in the exhaust always bring a smile.

The GT steering wheel does remind me of the Logitech force feedback wheel from years ago I think around the time of GranTurismo2 on the PS2.

So you got the best spec engine and specced it up pretty well elsewhere also. I'd be interested to see some interior shots if poss. I hear the rear seats in these things are pretty pointless :p.

:p Pretty much.

here's some links to the RCZ forum (not sure if external forum links are allowed but guess I'll find out soon enough):

some more of mine:

some interior shots (not mine) on this thread (no satnav and different colour on the dash):

Yep the rear seats are pointless for adults. I'm short and I could just about squeeze in but my head would be touching the rear window (so emergency only). But I've managed to get both kids in the back, in their car seats no problem. The boot's massive as well, the floor space is almost on par with my mk3 mondeo hatchback, but obviously since the RCZ isn't a hatch it hasn't got the extra boot depth.
