Yeah Xenons should really be standard on all modern cars. They draw less power, give a better light, are more efficient and last longer. What's to lose?!
One bit that narks me is them still charging for Xenons. Fair enough charging for them back on the E39, it was a new shiny technology that not everyone would want.... but in 2011 on a £40K BMW to be charging £920 for Xenons seems a bit much to me.

A bit much? £900 for xenons on a 550i M-Sport is an absolute joke
A bit much? £900 for xenons on a 550i M-Sport is an absolute joke. Although if it was included they'd just increase base price by £900.
Imagine a customer interested in media pro but not at all in xenons. You rather pay £900 less off base price than be forced to pay for xenons you didn't want.
Anybody with even an ounce of sanity gets the packages. It's clearly the most cost-efficient way of specifying options. Most people don’t buy the xenon option but get the visibility package (xenon, adaptive, high beam assist or similar) and the professional media package. The packages offer some good value. Let’s face it, if you are prepared to buy an expensive car you should be prepared to spend a bit extra on some of the “essential” options. It’s nothing new.
A few more of me yesterday
It’s a joke but it’s the same for all F10s and options make BMW the money. It’s the same with Mercedes and Audi. They won’t change the system and it’s quite a shock when you see an options list for the first time.

New camera for Christmas and it's the first chance i've had since getting the car back to go and take a few nice photos.
