Least the cars not pink anymore....

Do you have different wheels front to rear?

Yep. I foolishly bought mega wide rear tyres thinking that I'd have a set of wider wheels to suit them when it came to fitting the tyres. Long story short no suitable wheels turned up and I had to bung on a pair of wide wheels I had spare to get me to Brands on fresh rubber. It looks *****, but it did the job well and is perhaps better than trying to get 275 section tyres on a 8J rim :).

Always wanted to go to Brands, but it's a long long way away and I would want to do the full track, which at £500 a pop, ill give a miss!

Yeah, it does suck that they rarely do run the full track, and when they do it is mega expensive.

I quite like brands but I think it is a difficult track for me as a newbie due to all of the elevation changes and the shear fact that Paddock hill is just about the scariest corner in existence. I just could, I was breaking well before the 150 mark where more experineced guys where leaving it as late as about 75 before chucking on the anchors (albeit it not in a 1700KG car with standard 2 pot brakes :D).

What was annoying is that the car wasn't anywhere nearly as 'sorted' as I would have liked. I got a few pax laps with some experineced guys driving moderately sorted MX5 and they were pulling a good 15-20MPH more cornering speed than me and not braking where I HAD to. Yes, a massive part of that is due to them being more skilled than my hamfisted self, but I could sense they had far more confidence in their cars than I do with mine. It wasn't even massively rapid in a straight line as a Type RA impreza and GT4 celica made me their ***** with ease on the straight, and I only started roping in moderately powerful cars (RX8s mainly) above 100 which was a bit rubbish. That being said, what is mega annoying is that I can clearly see potential in the car, but it needs a desperately needs a manual box, slip diff, big brakes, coilovers (The shock and spring combo I have on at the moment is still too soft), uprated anti roll bars, full rebush and alignment before I think I'd have enough confidence in the car to be happy to push it, and at the end of the day that lot is going to set me back a few grand with ease :(.

I cant believe you come to Brands and didnt send message or ring me !

I was actually quite surprised how local your way is to me. I cracked the drive there out in about 35 minutes which was a bit of a head mess for me. We'll have to do something some time :).

Bloody disgrace you were a stones throw from food and drink :D

Picked this up today, just a 'cooking' 520D, but still a very sweet drive:

Spec is a 520d SE with automatic 'box, electric towbar and Dark Ash Grain trim. Steady drive back home round the M25 today, now to get some serious miles on it!

There's nothing wrong with the 520D, it looks good in white. I hope it gives lots of pleasure. :)

both the Zed and the cerb were on my short list (both the same cost to buy).... there is NOTHING better sounding that the 4.5l AJP V8 and hell it is fast (0-60 in 4s), however i had to let my head have some imput in the decision not just my heart........ no regrets yet.
(and i still got to be a passenger in one ;) )
