Show Us Your Motors!

ooOOOooo! Tasty! Doooo eeet!!! :D

EDIT - Out of interest, how does the 16-35 compare to the 17-40 or even the 24-70?

Mine is the Mk1 so there's more distortion on the corners at 16mm than the mkii, but i only paid £550 for the mk1 whereas the Mkii retails for over £1k.

I don't have experience of the 17-40 but the 16-35L mki not as sharp as the 24-70L but sharp enough. The reason I have it is the 2.8 AND 16mm.

I'm loving the 335i, Fox. I agree that this car is not about being flashy but the pictures you posted certainly don't do it justice. I've seen and looked around one very similar to yours and it looks a lot better in the flesh. I also don't think some people realise how damn hard it is to find these cars in the right spec and in the right condition - you'll always need to make some compromises otherwise you'll be waiting forever. Yours has the most important options and the best colour combination IMO.

I never got around to test driving one but I'm sure it drives beautifully which is what it's all about. :)

Fox, do you love the new car like you loved the E39 when it was first purchased? I'm just interested in how you "feel" about the car, as like others have said, your heart really doesn't sound like it's in it (I guess thats only from text on here though).

It just seems you're not that excited after just spending 20k.

I like the interior a lot actually, but the exterior is a little bland for me, but with the spoiler you mentioned and some nicer wheels... :)

One last question... how many miles? :D

I honestly wish I could buy a car like Fox does. So much logic and thought goes into it and he gets exactly what he wants at a good price.
A 2008 335i M Sport coupe in a desirable colour combo with a load of options plus 2 years warranty for under 20k, I dont care what anyone else says, that is a good deal.
Not like me, I just see something I like, think about it for 5 minutes and then buy it. Then hindsight raises its head. Luckily so far with my current purchase it hasnt (except with the USB option, which Im going to try and retrofit).

I think fox was rather attached to his old car and is feeling a little remorse chopping it in for a new one:p that's the only explanation for his lack of enthusiasm! Seriously though, nice car. Love the exterior colour but not keen on the wood interior. It's a bit pipe and slippers :D

Better than that, it is a 2009 car (on a 58 plate)!

I'm driving one of those at the moment. Managed 458km on half a tank and still can't find a comfy driving position.

A GT with the alcantara seats and higher bolsters? That's strange, I find the seats and driving position very comfy and there are a lot of adjustment positions available for the seats and steering wheel. Seats also have lumbar support and adjustment. Although coming from your F10 I can understand how they might feel less luxurious, it sounds to me like your 'mature' body needs something a little more cushioned than a Golf.

Woof.

My Dad has always loved the Jaguar E-Type, it's his all time favourite motor. Anyway for his birthday a few of us clubbed together to hire one out for the day for him. It was 1964 Series 1 Coupe and cost £250 for the day with a 300 mile limit.

This car is amazing. The first thing that struck me was how tiny the doors are, it makes it feel like you are climbing into some kind of WWII aircraft. Then when you are inside it has the most amazing greasy/oily smell and then you notice the bonnet which just goes on and on. To start the car you have to engage the fuel pump then hit the starter button making that 3.8 I6 roar into life, the gears a are a little tricky to get used to and you can't exactly race through them but they do provide a nice mechanical feedback.

The car was picked up at 9AM on Saturday morning and my Dad pretty much drove it non stop until around 11PM that night and then we took it back Sunday morning. He was over the moon with it and definitely fulfilled one of his ambitions. Anyway thought you all might appreciate a few photos:
