A quote for me on a 1.4 polo is only 1.6k for a cheapest quote on comparethemarket, although I think I have a relatively good postcode.

Not to worry, the (newer) V6 lost a lot of character in the 159. Wouldn't recommend it tbh.

Let's just say that using a "comparison" site isn't usually a fair "comparison" to going direct.

Those kinds of sites are only really of any use if you are a middle aged white woman with 10 years NCB and drive a Jazz. Typically they are 10-20% higher for me than quoting direct (and that's 28, 3-points, 10+ years NCB).

Was different for me. Got quoted direct with Admiral, then went through a comparison website and it knocked over £100 off.
