Show Us Your Motors!

ouch didnt realise they were that much, fair doos, id love a 530i manual sport, but i would only have a mint 1 owner car like yours lol

I'd like M5 mirrors (not because they are M5 mirrors but because they simply look far better, in the same way I preferred the mirrors on the 335i), but the genuine ones go for bonkers money and I'm really not a fan of fake stuff.

Leave the poor thing alone, you put it out to pasture and now dragged it back from retirement, doesn't it deserve some dignity ;)

I'll be the first to admit I'm no BMW fan boy but I do quite like that, it looks very clean and tidy and certainly doesn't appear (to me anyway) to be a nine year old car.

I assume your plans for the interior modifications are basically a case of retro fitting with more up-to-date technology? If so, then regardless of cost I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun with the new gadgets.

Pretty much, yes. The focus will be on maintaining the cars condition and upgrading the interior, the focal point of which will hopefully be the new Sony unit with Tomtom nav, Bluetooth phone, etc etc :)

The actual technical specification of the car remains excellent - dual zone climate control, front and rear PDC, DSC, etc etc. It's just the user interface stuff which could do with being more fresh.

Thanks, it's something I've been looking at doing too. The standard speakers on the Monaro are very good, 10 speakers and two subs but the head unit is pretty weak.

Do any double DIN Headunits exist that are completely touchscreen (ie no other buttons on the bezel?) Are the screen sizes any different to the OEM nav? 21st century hardware covered by the OEM bezel would win... Like a sleeper version of Sat Nav... :D

Are wraps expensive? Estoril Blue?

Re the wing mirrors, why don't you pay the silly money for the M5 mirrors, but keep your old ones, then swap them back and sell them on again when you finally find a worthy replacement that is affordable/justifiable?

fox has your bonnet been resprayed or the bumper and all drivers side? might just be me but colour looks a bit off

I had the entire front end of the car resprayed in late 2009 by BMW but I can assure you the colour match is perfect and its just the light in the photo if you can see anything. There used to be a colour mismatch on the offside front wing where it was resprayed after being damaged by a dealer because they didnt blend with the door, but thats one of the reasons I had it redone. I'm that fussy that if it didn't match, it'd go in and get done again ;)

The Sony one has almost all screen and a very thin bezel with about 3 small buttons at the button. It's the closest I can get to just screen. Everything else is touchscreen.
