Show Us Your Motors!

There was a time when I would criticise the financial prodding and nosiness that goes on around here relating to car purchases but I'm coming around.

Fox, I'll drop you a line when I'm in the market for....well, anything! For a thorough rundown of costs, benefits, technology and alternatives! :p

Generally, I'd say it's their cash, let them be but the amount of money that goes to waste in the car market is unbelievable and prime examples seem to pop up now and again in Motors!

I'm pretty tight all round especially with motoring (insurance restrictions mostly), it's the reason I still drive what I do being a student and all but even if I had £30k in cash, there's no way I'd spend it on a brand new 2l diesel, it just seems preposterous when the used market is littered with fantastic alternatives. Wedding, holidays, mortgage, real things that would benefit from the £10-15k savings. At least in my world.

But hey, different backgrounds and all. £14k student car? I'd feel guilty if I was ever given a fiver :p

Lovely looking car though, just not the options or engine I'd choose.

I was bored yesterday so I went to buy one after work.

If I thought about it too long I might have had second thoughts! It's an expensive toy but I plan on keeping it for a long long time! I'm looking forward to learning how to drive a 'proper' car!

Just remind me not to drink hot chocolate in this one.

It's an Esibu Black Nissan 350z GT.

The front left alloy has been curbed but looks minor compared to my current wheels. There are some stone chips on the front which is always going to happen. I might get it touched up and then clear wrapped if there is any point? There's slight scratches on the boot lid, which we think was from a car wash.

The car is totally standard apart from taking the orange reflectors off at the front and replaced with LED strips. Unfortunately they are blue rather than white but I think it looks better in the daylight. Don't think I like them when the sidelights are on though.

Cost me £10500 which I didn't think was too bad for an 08 plate. If I look at maybe £70 to repair the wheel. Don't know how much a paint job is for stone chips. The crap at the back will probably T-cut out. MOT due in February. Tax due in June or July. I can't remember.

Dunno. I'm impatient. I was always going to get the first car I saw.

This will be a daily car for most of the year once the final bit's are sorted... (oil leak, noisy gearbox, stuck shut passenger door, no door locks, new brake pads, underside sealed, new door/window seals, added lamps for night driving and so on... :p)
