Show Us Your Motors!

I know what you're trying to say but I'm disputing the throw away comment made about the Golf destroying it, yes it'll give it a challenge up to a certain speed but it's not going to make it look slow.

I was more so agreeing with your point just did it badly. I was making assumptions on the golf power which would showed it wouldn't destroy the monaro at all but rather hold pace with it. However had the golf got 350bhp plus then it would be getting close.

What's the 1/4 mile time on a monaro out of interest.

Power to Weight: 255 bhp/ton
0-60: 4.8
0-100: 10.5
60-100: 5.7
1/4 Mile ET: 12.80
1/4 Mile Terminal: 112
Dragstrip 1/4 Mile ET: 12.60
Dragstrip 1/4 Mile Terminal: 116

Take these with a pinch of salt because I don't know any solid details.

Golf.

Power to Weight: 229 bhp/ton
0-60: 5.2
0-100: 13.2
60-100: 8.0
1/4 Mile ET: 13.61
1/4 Mile Terminal: 104
Dragstrip 1/4 Mile ET: 13.31
Dragstrip 1/4 Mile Terminal: 106

Fair enough :) I couldn't quite work out if you were agreeing or disagreeing!

There's one problem with all that.

You're behind the wheel ;) :p

Fixed.

Ditto. Off the line I can't put the power down, if I approach anything near decent throttle in 1st I spin. Where as the 1.6 focus just floors it and waves goodbye...

No, I don't really need a car so it only gets used for pleasure (oo-er). This is my daily ride.

Very Nice.

Edit..... Wait.... How does it stand there without any support?

Glad we got there in the end.

1/4 miles times are fairly irrelevant thinking about it. Stick them both around the same track and that will show which is quicker, this is where the lack of weight in the golf should provide a good advantage, but I'm probably way off the mark here.

I'm surprised I haven't been bashed as a fan boy that's just trying to defend a **** old car actually

In that case with no disrespect dabbsy it seems rather over modified for 225bhp.

Any 20v 1.8T with a KO4 will easily make 260bhp if not more, yet his has forged internals, larger than stock injectors and 'proper' standalone ECU and is running stock power for an engine fitted with that partcular turbo as standard

I never said anything about destroying though? I quoted your post replying to somebody else about destroying it.

I built the engine for a future addition of a Gt2871r capable of 400BP. Thats why I have forged internals.

I put the 225 there as I don't actually know the real power output I don't want to say i have 280 when i may not.

Let me just say its running 25psi peak and holding at 20ish ;). Its going on the rolling road next month for a map as I took the one from my cousins mk2 20vt so its not perfect.

In the same vein, being quicker on track bears to relevance to being quick in the real world.

I'm sure a stripped Saxo VTS would give my 350z a hard time on track and no doubt would be able to lap faster.

However on the road it would be a different story completely. It just depends what you have bought your car for.
