Show us your TFT setups!!

Thank you ever so much, shine; I really appreciate it. ;)
I can't help wondering if i'd be better off with a 22" monitor, like the Samsung 226BW. It's annoying that i can't go to see any of these monitors, either.

shine, does the opticlear coating on the NEC make it any more difficult on the eyes? I was wondering, if gaming for along time with the brightness set pretty high, whether the gloss coating would be harsher on the eyes than an AR coating.

No - when set to gaming mode the monitor will adjust brightness to suit the game so its never too bright. The opticlear helps to make the colours look more vibrant and its what gives the screen its edge. The only downside is that it makes the more screen reflective. If the screen will have a direct source of light on it then you may find it bothers you.

In my room the window is to the left of the screen and there is not direct light on it so I've had no problems.

Alright mate, have you got a link for your desktop image?

Heres some pics of the desk connected, you can see the 2 brackets holding it to the end prdestal/cupboard. It is also joined by long bolts going through the end desk part, but that can't be seen in the picture. The pedestals have pre-drilled holes on both sides for the bolts so they can attach to either side of the desk.

Mate your a star. i see what you mean now. I am definately going to get that desk now. i have been having a good clear out today and have mode loads of room. I thin i may go for a double cupboard on either end. Looking at the way you have yours setup on the left with the single cupboard, am i right in thinking you could just add a double cupboard next to it and it would extend the desk further? Would there be a way of joining it to the desk or would it be just stand alone do you think.

Can wait to get this next week though, just got to decide on which cupboards and things lol. definately going for the corner desk though tis great!!!

Glad it's helped you. If I added an extra unit to mine, it would be a standalone unit. But, like previously mentioned, there are 2 holes pre-drilled in all the end units at the back (the piece of wood you see at the back of the desk has 2 screws going through it from inside each end unit), so you could put a couple of bolts through these holes, which would at least hold them together at the back. And if necessary drill your own at the front and bolt there too.
If I did get another, I would simply try standing them together first, and if they moved apart creating a gap do as I just mentioned to bolt them together.

I had trouble deciding which end units to get, wanted the double, but then wanted one which holds the hanging files, but was out of stock, so got the lockable cupboard instead. It also has the pullout shelf on rails, but thats not much use for me, still, plenty of extra strage space in it.

Good luck sorting yours out.
Remember, the desk part is quite large and heavy to move around, when you join it all up you will need 2 people!!

It probably sounds silly, but i really can't wait until i get my desk. :p
It's probably because the purchase is going to conincide with the purchase of my new computer. I think i'm going to get the draws, which have a filing bit at the bottom, and the double cupboard.

Yep. Bear in mind that Tescos do a very similer modular desk set, if you want to check that out. Look here, here and here. It's slightly cheaper, and the corner unit doesn't need pedestals to prop it up. The top surface doesn't look as thick, though.

They're all out of stock and the Argos one looks better.

'Did not realise that, thank you for pointing that out. Just as well, though, the Argos set looks a lot better quality. The only reason worth considering that Tesco set, if you ask me, was due to the 20% off offer on a month or two ago. But now, seeing as it's almost as much as the Argos set, there's not really much point.

I've been looking at it and I might pop in and get it on the 3 month interest free deal on Monday. I've been looking for a corner desk for ages but they all seemed too expensive or too big. At least here I can make it as big as I need it.

I think the one from argos is better.

It looks superior and also looks to have a better build qulity (esp thicker worktop). Plus the fact that you can bolt them together for more sturdy-ness should you ever need it :p

Yep, totally agree. Argos owns. Are you thinking of getting the Argos desk, shine?

Wow, we've completely stolen this thread...

Yes - I've had the tape measure out working out what I can get and where it'll fit :D

Heh, nice. I think i've got enough room, at least i hope i do. I'm in the middle of decorating my room, too. I'll post some pictures when i'm all done. Pretty soon there'll probably be 4 of us with this desk, huh?

the measurements it gives in the book for the corner desk, does this include the 2 end pedastools or just the desktop itself. also do the single cupboard or double draw pedastools actually fit under the desktop or do they have to be clipped on do you think? the top pick on page 692 look like they fit under the desk??!!
