I don't think anyone is saying not to clean at all, just that the Islamic way is disgustingly filthy.

The poster who mentioned the Islamic way got it wrong. You must clean your bum with three clean pieces of said item. i.e. if you have loo roll, clean you bum with three seperate peices and if after the thrid it is still quite mucky, then use two more (and so on if needed) otherwise wash it. This is the Islamic way.

That isn't how I have been told of it in the past. My preconceptions and understandings were the same as a follower of Islam. Perhaps some parts hold to different doctrine (in fact, it is obvious that they do) but your way is much cleaner than using your hand with no paper!

As an aside I can't believe anyone needs to be taught how many times to wipe :/
 
Shower every morning. Then again if I'm going out on the evening (brush teeth after both showers too). Shower after squash/gym if I do either. Never shower before bed but do brush teeth when I remember.
 
I clean my bum after taking a poop....with water where I can....I even have a bum cleaner in my bathroom! so whats the problem? its unhygenic to wipe...:o I like to be clean :p

Edit: shower every morning, if gym shower when i get back or is its hot then also another but on average 1 shower a day...

I can't believe that there's an actual rule as to how to wash your **** within islam.

Also, imagine the splashbacks you'd get from standing on the toilet? Surely some poo water would manage to splash your thighs/trousers making it very unhygienic?

From that height, you probably wont need to flush though, it'll make it's own way round the U bend.

I think the point is that it is normally sufficient to just wipe.

In what way did i get it wrong? I did not mention the full procedure, i was pointing out "how to wash it" and that washing is cleaner than using toilet paper alone. I personally use toilet paper the first couple of times and then use water, then dry with toilet paper.
