Did it kill the drive/drives?Changed power supplies and forgot to swap out the old the power cable for the sata drive (both are modular PSU). The sata power cable is identical on both PSUs so just didn't pay enough attention
Did it kill the drive/drives?
It killed the one drive (8Tb) that had the old cable from the old PSU.
Must have fried the internals because now it's completely dead.
Could have also burned TVS diodes into short. It killed the one drive (8Tb) that had the old cable from the old PSU.

Damn. RIP.
Possibly.Does that mean it is repairable?
I've stupidly bought an 8tb wd my book and 2 wd 5tb portable drives!WD 14TB drives are cheaper than they were, not the cheapest they've been but pretty reasonable.
Are the 5tb 2.5"? If so I think they're not shuckable due to having USB PCBs.
I'm not shucking those, they will be travel friendly devices. I'll look for some 12s to shuck at some point. Are the 5tb 2.5"? If so I think they're not shuckable due to having USB PCBs.
