Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth - Alpha Centauri sequel announced!

looking forward to this on Friday, just so happens that the missus is out on a works meal, convenient.....
Yeah it's typical I have the weekend work shift this week, won't get round to having a decent go until Monday.
I've said it before and ill say it again, this is the danger with Civ going off the rails and trying new things.
Whilst i loved Alpha centauri it never really had the same familiarity that you get from playing any Civ game 1 2 3 4 5 .
Earth is Earth, Gandhi is Gandhi, Elizabeth is the queen of England. City names are familiar, Tanks are Tanks, horses are horses... Archers upgrade to crossbowmen etc etc etc. You know what is what.
In AC the game got weird and units barely changed just got more powerful.
I fear that the same could happen in this again. Leaders are just shallow characters that follow a cliche ideal.
What makes civ great is that its a factual game with an element of historical accuracy.
Still Frothing t the mouth to play on Friday !!!

Its interesting that your concerns seem to be the opposite to what most people have said, most seem worried it will be too much like civ and not enough like AC. I get what you are saying about why civ is great, but you could just play normal civ if that's what you want. Anyway, looking forward to it as well.
I ordered it from GMG, but they sent me a Borderlands Pre-Sequel CD-Key. I'm not the only one, there are many others in the thread on the GMG forums. I don't know when they will fix this.

I would recommend to buy it from somewhere else, on the chance that they send you the wrong key and you can't play the game without having to deal with the support.
