Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

Ah bummer, well hopefully you get it soon!

I think some places are seeing how good/popular this lens is becoming and adding ££ :/

Ha, I was on a different site :o

Still out of stock but still 690, I emailed asking when they asked if they knew when they were getting it back in stock, they don't know :( Impressed that they replied within 5 minutes though!

If I get that desperate, my brothers girlfriend is in New York for christmas, might ask her to pop into BHphotovideo for me... they have it for around €700.

Should go nicely with the 5DIII I'm getting myself for christmas

Is this lens good for landscape and indoor group shots and does it have IS? Looking for a wide angle general purpose landscape group shot prime for my 5d3

It doesn't have IS, not really any need for IS on this kind of lens either really especially wide open and on bodies that have clean high ISO images.

but yes, don't see why you couldn't use it for landscapes, it's a standard wide angle lens on a full frame body and wide open it's as sharp as some other primes that require stopping down.

I just read in a magazine that every single sigma lens is getting a refresh (over 5 years) like the 35mm and the ability to use a dock. Makes me consider holding off on a 50mm 1.4.

5 years? That means I've got a good few years with the 85mm yet!

Can only imagine the weight and build quality of a new 85 :o

That's one sure way to annoy a lot of people and drive prices of old lenses down but another way to make people "upgrade". Sounds like they took a leaf from Apple.

It's a great promise for some of the older lenses. If they carry through the quality of the 35/85 to the rest of their lens range it could create some absolutely corker lenses. Really hoping they create a similar quality tele at some point.

Maybe, not too it was a little thing though so perhaps! The owner had the doggy in his arms the whole time so couldn't get a full view.

I've got one quite similar, but without the wicked blue eye. He's a very naughty boy but he's photogenic so I'll let him off.

They are really throwing down the gauntlet to canon at the minute, Canon's new stuff seems great but the prices are mental hoping for a 24-70mm f2.8 from sigma built to the standard and quality of the latest primes it could be a real winner and there is certainly a market spot for it.
