Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

Ah I get you!

I'm bursting to get out and use this lens on a full shoot!!

The contrast and colour is just amazing (been playing and learning it some more)

I think this will be giving me some amazing panoramic (stitched) images with bokeh being implemented in the foreground. Cannot wait!

Not what I wanted to see from the Sig 35mm.

Because now I really want one :(

Bit more faff involved with the 85 though :p

It's rubbish actually, do not get one, I repeat, do not get one!!

Brenzier doesn't work well with short lenses (the lens angle changes dramatically from frame to frame creating weird distortion. Generally the longer the better.

Not tried Xmas lights bokeh yet :p I wanna try Brenizer though! Got some stuff to do tomorrow, will see what can be done :)

I'm still amazed at how sharp this lens is at 1.4, I don't even want to jump to 1.8 or 2 unless I want a little more in focus. It's just amazing :D

Some more hand held samples outdoors now. The landscape one is unprocessed, the others (BW) are processed.

This one is at f4, nicely sharp.

Click for 100%, AF point was lower centre, the IOW.

1.4 with movement:

I'm quite chuffed with how it does what I expected it to do, give subjects that 3D look like I've been seeing on other 35mm lenses on full frame and film bodies :)

More to come!

Good stuff :) Looks nice but it'll have to wait a while I guess. Would be good to see some samples on a crop sensor if anyone has a crop camera and this lens :)

Welcome!

Edit*

Thread needs more pics with this lens.

The lighting always looks spot on in your photos mrk.

Can you describe what you did to just get those photos there looking right? Flash somewhere, or not at all? Thanks.

Hey cheers!

I have 3 flashguns but for all these around the house shots I just use 1 flash on the camera and bounced up off the ceiling or wall, point it around until you get the softest light and you're set. Keep exposure settings at manual, I usually use 1/100 or less if I need a screen to come out properly and let the flash fill everything else around it adjusting ISO as need be.

Here are some randoms from today!
