Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

Higher quality optics especially wide open, better build quality, standard wide angle 35mm focal range.

A friend has the 30mm 1.4 actually, I could do a comparison of the two if anyone would be interested in that?

1) the quality control of the 35 Vs 30 is 10 fold, have a look at amazon's feed back, most buy it knowing full well they will probably get a stinka and have to send it back a few times till they get a good one.

2) little to no lens flare due to the new glass inside

Dumb question alert!

What's so good about this lens compared to Sigma 30mm f/1.4, apart from 5mm difference?

Works on full frame
Much better build quality and quality control
Better bokeh
Much sharper than the 30mm (and indeed most other lenses I've seen, particularly wide open)
Better AF

It's better in pretty much every facet of lens performance tbh. On a crop there might not be that much incentive to spring for it except that it's one of the best 35's money can buy for a DSLR and is pretty much entirely futureproof in a way that the 30mm might not be. It's also a lot to do with the fact that 30/35 is a bit boring on a crop whereas on a full frame it's got that slightly wide perspective which is enough to give a great sense of depth and intimacy to an image without horribly distorting it.

yes please :)

Oh it's on! :o

Sorry it's a running joke between a few friends, I always keep things in new condition and stuff generally never breaks or gets damaged so they're always ribbing me about it :o

A dusty sensor is unavoidable! It's the sign of a busy workman if anything :D

What marks!!

I just went to check and rocket blew it all off the grip.

Happy now, see what you made me do :(

:o

Need more pics!

Buzz, when is yours coming :D

Edit*

Just look at this sharpness on the LCD (M), Look at it!! (click for 100%)

Also a yo dawg, literally:

Even pictures of pictures taken with this lens are sharp. Amazing!
