Sigma 35mm f1.4....?!!

£42~, so if this is the same then it's still going to have been a saving importing when I did... So far!

What ones and what was the level of sharpness you were expecting from those?

I'll posit a few recent 100% ones tonight from recent shoots. I only shoot at 1.4 really 99% of the time.

The sig was broken? I think you'll find it is not broken ;)

There's just been a white gap where the car was for most of the weekend for me on both my ipad and here. Dunno if that was you or my ISP caching things from an evil DNS :D

Reload my post a few times, you've been had!

As for sharpness of the lens, a shot from yesterday:

(Excuse the thumbed version, it's from Flickr)

Click for 100%. The focus area was the LCD on the D800. I use a non centre AF point for this and slightly recomposed the shot.

Now that's what i'm talking about...

gjc10212, Paull11's and Raymonds were not so sharp

My 35 1.4 is tack sharp , infact it blows me away at the level of detail it resolves, I did need to fine tune the autofocus a little but I'm very I impressed and I wish I could get such detail with all my lenses lol

This one was shot not too long ago and was using AI servo AF while walking, again with an off centre AF point for the tracking. Focus point was the man's face /somewhere/ :p

You're always going to get CA in all lenses at the widest aperture most especially where highlight edges meet shadow/mid tones.

Unavoidable especially when shooting into the sun.

I wasn't going to shoot from the other direction, it would've looked rubbish.

So it's either you get a photo with CA or you get a crap one without. It's a no brainer!

another quality thread turned into a sharpness at 100% debate, all the pics are plenty sharp enough for normal viewing/printing comparing 100% crops is just pointless nit picking.
